Per our Constitution, only Congress is permitted to declare war.
As Senator Byrd tried to remind us so many times in hte runup to the war in Iraq. Yet, Congress signed off on some garbage that gave that right to the president. They did not want to accept responsibility is what we must assume. And they gave their authority to a person least competent to have that authority. What should that tell us?

Congress should never again give anyone, Democrat or Republican, the authority to declare war on their own. If that is not what they did with Mr Bush, then why is he not being impeached at this moment?? It was a sad dereliction of duty. Hopefully, we will learn from our mistakes.

1. war on terra
That is what I have been saying for months

This phony Bush "War on Terra " crap is an insult to America

If Congress did not declare war, then we are NOT at war

So there is NO war on terra

4. ... and the 'war' in Iraq is, by definition, a hostile occupation.
Which means the UN - along with whatever allies Iraq may have had - should be kicking our asses, if I understand correctly.

2. Vietnam was an undeclared war.
I think this nasty little trend started then. There was a reason our founding fathers put that provision in the Constitution...they were very wise men.

6. Man, I'm With You...
...but I got 'splained to that without a majority in Congress, impeachment is futile. Everyone responsible for the erosion of the checks and balances of our government is fucking fired, as far as I'm concerned.
