Matt Drudge, a Gay Who Backs the Gay Bashers

Normally, we ignore Matt Drudge. If you pay him too much attention, you just start to feel slimy yourself, like you need to run and take a shower.

But, back in June of 2000, we wrote a couple of editorials about Drudge, because he is typical of Republican gays in the media and government who shore up right wing leaders who advance an anti-gay agenda.

Indeed, right now Bush and the Congressional Republicans are trying to exploit "class value" wedge issues by promoting an anti-gay marriage Constitutional Amendment, one that they know will never be affirmed by enough states to become law. It is political opportunism at its most base.

Yet, how does Drudge, who has been outed by a variety of people -- including David Brock -- since we first wrote our June, 2000, editorials justify his anti-gay innuendo?

and Drudge is a fine example of the species. They are generally right wing, and they have a fear and dread of what they see as "feminine" within themselves which they transfer to the female half of the human race.

My great-grandmother was one of them and she treated her own people horribly until she was "outed" by a half-brother. It often takes being "outed" and subject yourself to the disrespect you (and the people you idolize) perpetuate to realize how wrong your actions have been.

I wrote the following to Andrew Sullivan - one of Drudges boys:

"Hi,

Saw you sewing your vile pack of lies and deceit on Chris Matthews again today.

Actually I didn't write this email to criticize you - I wrote it to inform you that your desperate assertions on the show today were as self-deprecating as if you had just simply said "Bush (my secret lover) is in trouble and it is hurting me too - I am feeling bad about myself". You are SO transparent that I was laughing at you. Desperation breeds discontent, then apparently stupidity in your case.

Hahaha - I laugh at the desperate Andrew - the gay Republican who hates himself."

some of the especially evil characters. O'lieley, Hannity, Cafferty, Scarfaceborough, Rush(medrugs) and just about anyone else you can think of. Here is one to the Episcopalians (I got a idiotic hollow response to this one):

"Hi fellow Christian. I am so angry at your denomination. You have attacked a fellow Christian - Jesus is really angry right now and he cannot believe that you claim to actually have listened to Him. First Paul distorted His message and made a Church of idolatry which he so railed against, now you condemn his most ardent followers due to some freakish and bigoted view of their sexuality. Jesus never even got married!! Perhaps he was gay? You really cannot know the answer to my supposition. LOL - I absolutely despise hypocrisy in Church people - they of all people should be true to Jesus' teachings.

I have resisted the urge to visit the idiot Drudge because I WILL get mad and let him know how I feel. Should I subject myself to that?

Unlike Drudge, Andrew Sullivan is about as far out of the closet as you get, to the point of being very vocal supporter of gay rights.
