How will our athletes be treated at The Olympics?
I've been wondering if the anti-Bush sentiment I've seen online expressed by other countries' media will have an effect at the Olympics. I'd hate to see blameless American athletes become the brunt of anti-Bush administration anger. Fahrenheit 9-11 is playing well in France and England. Will distrust of this administration manifest into protests and anti-Americanism at the Olympics? This would be grossly unfair to people who have worked tremendously hard to achieve their goals. Their accomplishments should not be tarnished by the Bush administration's lies, greed, and bloodlust. Maybe fairness will prevail and the innocent will not be the targets of the mistrust and anger so many have toward our leadership.
What do you predict will happen?

1. I think the response will be muted.
While I don't think the world will blame the US athletes for chimpco's many sins, I don't expect a lot of cheering for the Americans except by Americans. I would think a lot of spectators will simply sit on their hands.

2. Our State Dept is discouraging celebrations from the athletes
No victory laps carrying the American flag, etc.

Isn't that nice?

3. As long as they conduct themselves well ...
and don't act like jackasses, they will be treated well.

6. I agree, if they don't flag waving
and acting arrogant i think it will be ok, i don't think there will be any roses thrown at their feet but i think it might go alright.

4. However they are received, we won't hear about it
Except from the Foreign Press.

Guaranteed. I HATE Totalitarian Nations and their predictability.

I cannot wait for Amerika to be liberated again and then we can spell it America again!

7. They will be treated well. I think it is extremely apparent that this
government is not exactly speaking for us. At least, that is my hope.
