I've been wondering if the anti-Bush sentiment I've seen online expressed by other countries' media will have an effect at the Olympics. I'd hate to see blameless American athletes become the brunt of anti-Bush administration anger. Fahrenheit 9-11 is playing well in France and England. Will distrust of this administration manifest into protests and anti-Americanism at the Olympics? This would be grossly unfair to people who have worked tremendously hard to achieve their goals. Their accomplishments should not be tarnished by the Bush administration's lies, greed, and bloodlust. Maybe fairness will prevail and the innocent will not be the targets of the mistrust and anger so many have toward our leadership. What do you predict will happen?
While I don't think the world will blame the US athletes for chimpco's many sins, I don't expect a lot of cheering for the Americans except by Americans. I would think a lot of spectators will simply sit on their hands.
