1. The question isn't "would they do it?".
The question is "could they do it?".

4. I've included that option in the poll
If the question is 'could they?' the answer is NO.

7. Well, that's not exactly true

The answer is "NO" only if the answer to "could they?" is "NO". I don't know the answer to that question. The level of competency of this gang is perhaps the biggest mistery about them. I tend to be very opinionated about issues, but this is one issue that leaves me stumped... I sea-saw between "they're the dumbest bunch of idiots I've ever seen" and "they're the most ingenious of evil geniuses I've ever seen".

8. Sounds like Option Three is perfect for you.
:D

Perhaps I still have time to make the poll more complex, but that wouldn't be fair to the people who've already voted. But yes, I was being a tad presumptuous when I said there's no way they could pull it off.

Dangerous Idiots is how I think of them. Like children with dynamite.

5. Excellent drawing of distinctions, slavkomae!
There is a difference.

I believe they would.

I don't believe they could. Not and get away with it.

6. Glad the Pentagon, Justice, Interior, State and so on down the line...
... to state and local offices are made up of GOOD PEOPLE. They all swore allegiance to the Constitution of the United States and not to the Bush Organized Crime Family. These won't go along with Bush's treason. And that's why We the People will win.

12. The question is "Will they do it again????"

I'm one of those who are extremely suspicious about how the buildings came tumbling down on 9/11. I seriously suspect that the Bush Cabal knew the attacks were coming, so they planted explosives inside the buildings to make sure they came tumbling down.

the only way to prevent this is to make it clear NOW that we have a plan, and that it will not work!

11. I seldom kick my own threads
But this one received 23 responses in the first four minutes. Amazing. I'm curious to see if Dubya's reputation may improve with more votes.

13. I voted for incompetence
for two reasons:

1) I think the Spain thing threw them for a loop: the classic October Surprise scenario, and it didn't work.

2) After dumping crap on the CIA the way they've been doing, they'd have to be stupider than even I think they are to try a covert activity of this magnitude. All it takes is ONE angry field agent to put the Bushevikii in prison for the rest of their lives, if not executed for treason.

14. Operation Northwood alumni say "Yes"
And the stakes are alot higher right now...

"In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders reportedly drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba.

Code named Operation Northwoods, the plans reportedly included the possible assassination of Cuban émigrés, sinking boats of Cuban refugees on the high seas, hijacking planes, blowing up a U.S. ship, and even orchestrating violent terrorism in U.S. cities. "

Think about it.

CNN - "Trust us, we're the news."
CNN Headline News - "The need-to-know news network" (Obviously we're *not* on a need to know basis for real news)

Okay, now I'm scared. I hadn't even thought about Northwoods when I posted.

17. You know what they say: your first Reichstag is always the hardest.
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 08:55 PM by Minstrel Boy
And calling the United States "their own country" is probably stretching it. They inhabit a stateless, lawless virtual country of money and privilege that bears no relation to the nation most Americans know. And that's where their loyalties lie.
