After 34 years in the US Marine Corps I really want to kill that bastard with my bare hands. I have served in every theater on the planet during my career including Korea from August 1950 to January 1951 and came home in a hospital ship.

When I heard that filthy slime say "Thank you for your service" I wanted to ram my Kabar knife right through his skull.

I had two grandkids in Iraq until December until the 19 year old took a round in his pelvis and is now crippled for life. The other guy is a rookie second lieutenant who recently arrived there and is somewhere near Fallujah. Those swine in the White House have not managed to kill him off yet and THEY BETTER NOT. Rumsfeld Must Go - He Has Failed

The news reports below (both prominent in British news, but not in US news today) expose the immensity of Rumsfeld's failure as Secretary of Defense, and the resulting Iraqi and American deaths. On his watch we were defenseless on 9-11, and he continues to endanger millions of lives with his failures. He must be relieved of his duties, and any of you who do not move to do so will be seen as accessories to his crimes, at the very least.

Secy. Rumsfeld is directly responsible for the prison abuses, as well as for keeping violent US military personnel in sensitive positions. Also, it's obvious to everyone that keeping the peace has failed due to hostility on the part of violent US military leaders and personnel. It's ironic that we are so eager to lock up non-violent criminals for life to the tune of two million prisoners in the US, but we put weapons and power in the hands of violent criminals to fill up the ranks of a military wholly inadequate for empire-building. US reporters have exposed the history of violence of some of the prison-guards-turned-reservists-turned-prison guards in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I have read that the Universal National Service Act of 2003 (Senate bill S.89 and House bill HR 163) is currently in committee and may come to a vote this year. These bills would force U.S. citizens into mandatory government service. I have also read that 28 million dollars has already been allocated for draft boards in 2005.

I oppose forced military service, especially in times when our soverignty is not in danger. It is recognized that a drafted military force is less motivated and efficient than an all voluntary force. We are already bogged down in Iraq, where we would not even be if Congress had not been mislead.

Please oppose any efforts to force military service upon U.S. citizens. Our nation should be exemplifying peace, not war.
