Mazen Dana mentioned on DU thread at
http://democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az... Apparently, as recounted at
http://www.pbs.org/frontlineworld/stories/israel.palest... , at one point Reuters took him of the streets to keep him safe:
And Reuters has decided that to safeguard the life of Mazen Dana, their award-winning cameraman, they must take him off the street.
Someone at Reuters (perhaps Mazen himself --whoever it was I wonder what drugs they´ve been taking) must have decided that he was safe enough in Iraq because, after all, Americans are not going to shoot at journalists (a surprising assesment given our current track record).
I see great irony in the fact that he met his doom at the hands of American soldiers after having so many close calls while reporting from the West Bank.
