Maybe Tommy Franks isn't all that bad
I've never been a big Tommy Franks fan, and I normally would have zero interest in his upcoming book, but this little snippet from a Joe Klein column makes me wonder...

Bob Woodward reported that Franks once called Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith, who was charged with postwar planning, "the stupidest guy on the face of the earth," and some defense experts are wondering if Franks, who has a reputation for candor, will elaborate on that.

3. I also am pretty dubious about "Bring em On" Franks,

but I will admit to bewildered surprise at the revelations in Ron Suskind's book with Paul O'Neill, "The Price of Loyalty". And Franks could have some lulu's to tell. I want to hear more about the WH Office of Global Communications freaks in camo who followed Franks et al. around playing junior Goebbels.

4. High-ranking military guys usually have an interesting side to them
Who would have thought guys like Clark, Holbrooke and Hackworth would be left-leaning?

They just can't show their personal side when they're leading the military.

7. Tommy Franks is a fucking numbskull
He is the one who said rights under the Constitution might have to be "suspended". Moron.
