Packed house for 9/11, 1pm showing in Central Florida (Plus a Freeper)
That's right. The first showing at the Oviedo Regal Cinema was at 1pm today in it's biggest theater and it was sold out. The power went out twice during the flick, (the first time during Dubya's reading of the Pet goat) and as us jumpy liberals are prone to do, we started looking for a Republican Operative. ;-)

Each time the power went off a guy a couple of seats away yelled, "It's a Right Wing Conspiracy". Plus he chuckled and made snide comments at different times during the movie. During the second power outage he loudly said the movie was bullshit. Big mistake on his part. The crowd turned on him big time. Man it was beautiful. His first objection was since Moore didn't live in Flynt anymore then he couldn't call it his hometown. LOL.. His second objection was he disagreed with the "premise" of the film. Well it was obvious to all in the crowd that the guy was a fucking idiot and thank god the film came back on or he might have been showered by a 1000 Skittles!

I went with my Dad, my Bro, and his girlfriend. Du's TRoosevelt was there with his lovely wife and the crowd was full of young and old. The movie was stunningly great. I thought one of the best parts of the movie (Spoiler) was when they followed the Marine Recruiters. The lies they told to recruit were incredible. AND Moore inserting (spoiler) the "Fool me once" quote at the end was brilliant.

I was delighted as we left the movie to see a line wrapped through the theater for the next showing. And one more thing. Props to Regal for giving us a free pass to a future movie because of the two power outages. That was cool.

So I give it 2 thumbs up and the freeper who was in the theater gives it one thumb up his dumb ass.

16. I live down in Pinellas Point, but am willing to brave the traffic on
that side of the county to go see it this weekend. Man I hate that drive, but it will be worth the frustration just to be able to see it. Oh yes, and there are a couple of great Sushi bars on that end that will just be icing on the cake for me, Sushi, Yum!

14. Too funny. Wonder if he feels so secure in his thoughts about * now
that he has seen the film? Who knows, it might just eat away at him til he sees the light.

19. If that doesn't have an impact, the crowd reaction around him should.
Perhaps he'll at least notice that he might - just might - be outnumbered, for a change. These folks are so used to believing that they're the kingpins and that THEIRS is the majority view because the media has never given them any reason not to think this. Nothing's ever been questioned. People who try to are either laughed at, interrupted, shouted down, heaped with scorn and derision, and/or thrown/kept off the air. That's why some people call us "The Silenced Majority." Even if the truths in the film don't reach him, sheer numbers of people outshouting folks like HIM for a change, just might.

6. Okay, but screw Regal for refusing to show it in my town... making it
necessary to travel to the next city thirty plus miles away to see the movie...

Props to Regal for giving us a free pass to a future movie because of the two power outages. That was cool.

10. Me too
The Regal in Ormond Beach isn't showing it either. Only one theater (Daytona Beach) in at least 4 counties around me is showing it.

15. I'm just up the road from you in St. Aug...
and will have to travel to Jax to see it, if my husband agrees. Right now he wants to wait until it comes out in DVD.

Say, have you ever eaten at the Hong Kong Restaurant on A1A in Ormond Beach? Before my son was born, we used to make the trip to Ormond Beach once or twice a week to eat there. I'd like to think that it is still there and still serving WONDERFUL food... :9

7. Awesome! Sounds like it's packing houses across the country
I don't think I have ever been so excited about seeing a movie. I have 3 1/2 years of pent up anger, and just being in a theater with a bunch of folks who feel the same way will be therapy for me.

11. Let me tell you...

You can't help BUT react to scenes in this movie.

Some scenes hit you on the gut level (as they are intended to do).

"Now watch this drive!".
