Last night on Hannity and Colmes..
Al Sharpton was destroying Sean Hannity in a debate. Sharpton actually had the idiot at a loss for words.

In the next segment they had this little conservative puke college kid who was protesting his school's "liberal" bias and lies. One of the lies he disputed--- The poor in America have trouble surviving.
According to him if the poor have it hard it's because they spend their money on drugs and "liberals" tax them too much.

1. "They spend their money on drugs....
and Liberals tax them too much?" That is just sick. These people are so twisted on the tax issue. I went to the post office one Saturday, and it was closed at 1pm. It used to be open until 5pm, and there was a woman there complaining about that...I said, "That's what tax cuts do for us!" Never miss a chance to point that out to people.

3. I do the same thing!
Like you, I never miss an opportunity to point out what tax cuts to the rich do to us. Here in central NY, they're cutting teachers like crazy, and every time I talk to someone about this I say, "Perhaps Bush should've given some aid to the states instead of giant tax breaks for billionaires."

4. It is true the poor have no trouble surviving
What they have trouble with is improving their lot in life. American poor are much healthier and wealthier than the poor in most countries. That does not mean we should not do more for them, it just means they are not likely to have trouble surviving.

5. I thought the poor didn't pay taxes
I guess they do when it fits your argument.

What exactly was the debate about? I've stopped watching news on TV ever since I got TiVo :).

6. Did anyone notice a change in Clomes last night that ?
I think he grew some balls. He was all over that college student from N.C. that was bithing about the book "Nickel & Dimed". And he also kinda trashed the guy that wanted to impeach the 6 Justices who overturned the Texas sodomey law.
I heard he just got married, maybe his wife told him to make a stand.

8. yeah...and the little fucking racist said at the start..
"my life long dream to follow Al Sharpton on national television has been realized".

I think I know what his lifelong dream is and it has to do with Al Sharpton behind him saying , "WHO'S your Reverand?"

SHarpton was funny because he irked Hannity by squeezing in numerous plugs for his election website. too funny.

I thought he did a great job in fielding questions about why he would look at Castro's leadership principles as worthy of imitation or study and questions about his views on Bush's record.

9. Ehrenreich should go on the show
and mow Hanratty down like an oak tree. But they only want liberals on FOX that are appropriately sissified.

11. oh real nice kid
they spend all of their money on drugs. Why dont you go to a poor neighborhood and we'll see if you make it out making comments like that you asshole. The poor have it hard harder than me or you will ever have it. I am not poor and if I were I bet I would be a socialist or communist I am already leaning socialist and I am upper middle class. My grandparents were poor but of course those who are poor mostly if not always have another thing that makes it no matter they have heart and thats something snobby little rich kids like yourself will never get how the poor do suffer but yet they are richer at heart then snobby rich kids.

12. Being poor is a trap that is almost impossible to escape . . .

Once you've slipped into the red, you become innundated with exorbitant interest rates like 21% or higher, and late fees of $25 or more a month. Food is one of the first things that gets cut from the budget so you end up making decisions on a weakened mind and an empty stomach. I know this because I allowed myself to go there once after losing my job and it is truly hell on earth trying to turn it around. Poverty is more widespread in this country than you would like to imagine. Kids go to bed hungry. And this economy is sure as shit not helping any. You're right though, John, poor people are richer at heart . . . I just pray that they don't lose hope and give up but I know that they do. :(

13. I am not poor myself nor do I know what its like
I have my job to get extra pay but other kids my age who have jobs who are more poor they do it so they can support their famlies more. The poor are better people than the CEOs who cut jobs.
