Edited on Wed Jun-23-04 06:02 PM by charlyvi
and they were discussing Grover Norquist and the K Street Project--it sounded like the Repubs were out to control the entire US government. What's the lowdown on this?

Edit: for spelling

1. In isn't the "US" anymore, it's Imperial Amerika
And yes, the Imperial Family considers it theirs. And yes, they are swiftly dismantling the Coinstitution, Bill of Rights and all the Checks and Balances in order to seize it fully and Unchallenegd.

Then it's "Look out!" for all Free Americans who will not kneel.

Don't be caught by surprise like a German Jew in 1938.

2. Okay, but
What exactly is the K Street Project and how successful has Norquist been in implementing it? How worried should I be?

These Monsters are assualting our Nation on so many fronts, I often wonder if Restoring the Old American Republic is even possible anymore.

That ISN'T going to stop me from trying, though!

5. The Republicans are working to make all lobbyists Republicans...
They sell access for campaign donations to the RNC and have made sure that their operatives are placed in all lobbying positions. A recent article quoted here indicated that Democrat lobbyists have been revealing Dem voting strategies to gain access to the Republicans.

7. Thanks.
Do you think this will change with a Kerry administration, or do you think Norquist will be crazy to his grave? What can we do to fight this?

6. K Street project
Welcome to the Machine
How the GOP disciplined K Street and made Bush supreme.
By Nicholas Confessore

http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2003/0307.confessore.html

"The chief purpose of these gatherings is to discuss jobs--specifically, the top one or two positions at the biggest and most important industry trade associations and corporate offices centered around Washington's K Street, a canyon of nondescript office buildings a few blocks north of the White House that is to influence-peddling what Wall Street is to finance. In the past, those people were about as likely to be Democrats as Republicans, a practice that ensured K Street firms would have clout no matter which party was in power. But beginning with the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994, and accelerating in 2001, when George W. Bush became president, the GOP has made a determined effort to undermine the bipartisan complexion of K Street. And Santorum's Tuesday meetings are a crucial part of that effort. Every week, the lobbyists present pass around a list of the jobs available and discuss whom to support. Santorum's responsibility is to make sure each one is filled by a loyal Republican--a senator's chief of staff, for instance, or a top White House aide, or another lobbyist whose reliability has been demonstrated."
