Pretty smart of Kerry. (Sometimes Ohman just
hits one out.)

on edit: I don't agree with the Kerry bubble,
but the cartoon is very good.

1. I absolutely agree with the "chew on" part
Kerry gets something of a free ride for awhile because the RW and media are obsessing over Clinton and bashing him instead of Kerry.

2. It's pretty damn smart if you ask me.
Then we have Moore's movie to distract them.

Cool, huh?

3. Here's another way:

**'No Contest: Iraq-Gate Trumps Monica-Gate'**

By Clarence Page, Chicago Tribune
WASHINGTON -- Former President Bill Clinton is back in the national spotlight to promote his autobiography, just in time to remind us of how trivial his sexual shenanigans with Monica Lewinsky were compared with the Bush administration's spin job concerning its war in Iraq.
After all, no one died in Monica-gate. No one was tortured. Our international allies were shocked or amused, but not alienated.
The Bush White House, by contrast, is in full spin mode to downplay a bracing conclusion of the bipartisan Sept. 11 commission that it found "no credible evidence" that Iraq and Saddam Hussein were involved in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks on the United States.
Team Bush turned on the media, insisting it never asserted any such connection. "This administration never said that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated between Saddam and Al Qaeda," President Bush said. "We did say there were numerous contacts between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda."

4. Kerry is lucky enough to stand atop a movement.
His campaign is a large part of a much larger movement against corporate conservatism. At this point, only the hopelessly self-interested or the hopelessly uninformed still support the Bush Administration. Kerry likely does not even know many of the large and powerful people and organizations which are focused not upon securing his election, but instead ensuring the defeat of George W. Bush.

I do not think things would change even should John Kerry somehow be taken out of the race (paranoiacs and conspiracy theorists: please note that George W. Bush is now ultimately responsible for Kerry's safety because we are within 120 days of a general election). The Republicans aren't going to retain the White House unless they brazenly seize it and dare America to take it away from them.
