Cheney given an "out" per alqeada/saddam links... will he take it?
So multiple reports... the claims could be based on "mixup" (an intelligence problem...)

Gives Cheney the face saving out of "thus there is no inconsistency... that is just what we believed at the time..."

Will he take it?

I predict - no way in Hell. He keeps repeating things he knows are lies because he is stubborn and holds the public in contempt - he lies with self-righteous impunity - because he can.

However, I also predict, this will provide another strategic problem for the bushjr campaign. Cheney's refusal to take the out and "stick by his words" will keep the story going for at least a few more days. And each time it is reported in another source, more of the public hears the inconsistency... repeated again and again and again... and even more of those who have tried to believe in bushco (that they wouldn't be cynically lying us into war...) will begin to fall into cognitive dissonance... to be bumped into awareness (aka "opening their eyes") to the bushco credibility gap. The longer the story is repeated (that cheney just can't help himself from spiraling along due to his stubborn arrogance) - the more erosion of bushco support.

2. Essentially said that Cheney's pants are on fire
I was laughing so hard. Jon Steward is great. Why can't regular media take on the White House.

Someone has to point out all the lies they've told.

5. Jon Stewart!

He was freakin outstanding last night! The first part of his show on Cheney should be played on every network and cable news show AND should be put in a Kerry ad. Then he totally chewed up and spit out that guy with the "Connection" book. He usually does joke around a bit with the RW's, but he was on the hunt this time.

Keep it up Jon!

6. Usually the RWers he has on aren't so stupid
as to contradict Jon. For the most part, I believe the Scarboroughs, Hannitys, Goldbergs, etc. have a basic respect for Jon Stewart because he knows his shit and doesn't assert what he can't prove. When that idiot last night sais Iran didn't use chemical weapons Jon was literally dumbfounded because this guy didn't even provide evidence, he just said it looked shakey. Jon lowered the boom on him, and hard! Loved it.

We need to send a note to every editor on every newspaper and newsprogram to get them to watch that show.

3. no, because they NEED to keep maintaining that link
see this Frank Luntz document, which cites Cheney as the model for how all of them should speak, in order to keep fooling us rubes.

4. hahaha
I love it when their "strategy" starts blowing up in their faces (which has repeatedly been the case since Kay returned early from Iraq back in January). Thing is - it is now getting so obvious that they are really strategically mistepping... but they seem not to be able to help themselves. If the country were not so politically polarized on the one hand, and politically apathetic on the other and thus regardless of all of this the vote could go either way (if done tomorrow)... this would simply be a form of amusement - watching the farright that had been "masters of the universe" (in terms of media control and manipulation of public opinion) move into a symphony of the inept. Sadly the stakes are so high that there is little time to be wasted being amused at watching this.

some really off the wall bullshit, and some lying shit like they found the hidden link & connection between Iraq (Hussein) and al Qeada {bin Laden).

They have nothing else. They have to continue to lie to the American sheep. Because they know enough of the sheep, already do, or want to believe there was a link.

Lies all LIES!!!

So they are (BushCo) fucking stuck and going to have to play it out this as the reason were in Iraq...

ALL the way to the election and you can be sure Rove and the other republican media pigs, will make lie... The Iraq/Hussein and al Qeada/bin Laden lie seem all but real.

7. they will get away with all the lies they have told from the beginning
no matter how criminal, how much damage they did, or how much they have destroyed of their own country and no matter how many of their own people they have killed and maimed in Iraq based on their lies.

They will get away with the entire con game because NO ONE is willing to call them on it. I know it and you know it.
