Waxman's throwing another log on the fire
Did anyone catch the NPR story on the Halliburton Iran reconstruction contracts? Did it air anyplace else?

1. There was a brief mention on CNN of Waxman's
actions about this. I hope it goes somewhere other than on the backburner with all of BushCo's other corrupt schemes.

2. NPR only. Not on the network news.
Makes you wonder what they think "news" is!

3. News that may create doubts about the nobilityof our rulers
cannot be shown on network TV.Their main function is to not ask questions that may make their audience uncomfortable.Their second function is to provide soothing stories that would dull the populace.
Any diversion that hides the true nature of our political discourse
is their staple.Whether it is Britney Spears' navel or Trump's
latest extravaganza or the sexual escapades of Hollywood starlets or our Congressmen will do nicely.

4. Does "freedom of the press" include freedom not to print news?
Isn't it ironic that our Capitalist press is about as dysfunctional as the press was in Communist Russia? When the four branches of government are in the hands of a single party, all we have left is the press. If it fails where do we go from there? Thank our stars for the INTERNET I suppose.

5. The mass media is failing its mission
Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 09:26 PM by SpiralHawk
And proving its loyalties are neither for the truth nor for the nation, but for the corporate state -- presently incarnated as BushCo.

There comes a time -- and we are in it -- when spin is treasonous. It's a betrayal of the nation, and the spirit. The truth matters. The whole, unsmeared, straightforward truth.

We can handle it.

6. "Iran" reconstruction?
You mean Iraq, right?
