26. KoKo, he hasn't said anything, except through an aide,
according to Kate Snow on ABC. He is still at the Miramar Airbase; the White House aide said that Bush was aware of the problem. That's about it!

Did he go back to the base? Or is he sunning by the pool at the Hyatt?

15. No, he's wrong
He's the president of this country, not all the others. A domestic problem means that there is a problem with the country of which he is president. The scale of this problem means that it does require presidential input.

On the other hand, with this idiot it is better if he keeps his mouth shut.

Looting during natural disasters, technological disasters, etc., is a disaster myth. Does not happen! Looting is a phenomenon associated with riots or other politically, economically, or socially charged collective behavior.

ridiculous statement. How on god's green earth can you defend that little prick? Not to mention that domestic problems are his responsibility too, but in this day and age, his ass should be reassuring people about the magnitude of the problem and whether or not this is terrorist related. There is no excuse for that fuckwad, or your inane post.

This one will stay atop my "Dumbest Fucking Posts" list for a while.

But i guess with rethorics like yours i wouldnt exactly expect you to read that

Kamika, just because you think that it is more important for him to take his nap than get engaged in a regional blackout, and just pass it off with a nearly dumber than ever response, and that is saying something, good for your apologist ass. As idiotic as it may seem, some people look to him for leadership.

Hey, he got away with abdicating his responsibilities to the Mayor of NY on 9/11, I guess he feels like it is OK today.

Now you occupy spots one and two. Want to go for three?

The right still feigns outrage that Clinton didn’t go to the WTC after the first attack.

This is a time in American history that the President should LEAD. Folks are frightened and would be reassured if he went on the tube to say there is nothing to worry about. No one here would be assured, but that is truly beside the point.

5 minutes??? for a shrub speech???? it would take his handlers to pull an all nighter just to figure out what he should say (while trying to figure out how to profit from it) and another 4 or 5 hours of rehearsing the puppet and making sure only the "right" media is there and knows the proper spin if the puppet screws the pooch. There IS a reason he only has press conferences a few times a year, ya know.

89. How about
at a minimum, a statement that can be attributed to him? Last I heard, the highest ranking "official" who was even available was chief of staff Andy Card. How about:

"President Bush issued a statement in which he said that he has been in touch with the homeland security director and the region's governors. He has directed FEMA to assist where needed and assures those affected that everything possible is being done to restore power as soon as possible. The president also <has> <does not have> reason to believe this is terrorist related.

Oh that's right, they have to sober him up first. That's the real problem.

However, since he is a fake president, I want him to keep doing what he is doing.

he has devoted his entire junta to scaring the bejeezus out of us and now something bad has happened. He owes it to us to let us know this isn't "the big one."

Clinton would have done it by now.

Of course, if Clinton were still Pres, there would be no "war on terror" and half the nation wouldn't be scared of their own shadows.

20. Let's be honest, would you like Bush to help you with ANY problem?
I'd say. "Um...thanks George, but you know what. I believe you have been involed with this energy stuff long enough, and you just let me handle it ok ;ittle buddy. Look their's a brand new gas truck toy I just got from the gas station. You play and us common folk will handle this." And "Please don't play with the tool's georgie, working people need those, and they really use them too:.

When I turned on the tube and saw New Yorkers streaming by the hundreds of thousands across the Brooklyn Bridge AGAIN, I tought we were under attack again. Fuckin freaked me out.

68. the same thing happened to me.
I came in, turned on the television, and saw people streaming out of New York. ON FOOT. ACROSS THE BRIDGE. AGAIN.

I almost had a fucking panic attack. What are we supposed to think when we see imagery like that? The little prick should come on TV and make the simple statements that someone mentioned above. For no other reason than to calm other Americans.
1. We are not under attack by terra-ists.
2. New Yorkers are safe. Bloomburg is handling the situation with my full confidence.

How hard would that be? I'm sure this is drudging up those 9/11 feelings again all over the country, and the Boy King thinks it not his problem.

You said: "I'm sure this is drudging up those 9/11 feelings again all over the country, and the Boy King thinks it not his problem."

Hell, I bet these asshole think that this is actually great for them. You know, give the people a little fearful reminder of 9\11-like proportions, but with out all those messy dead bodies!!!

Fear Factor, the Bush II years!!!

I swear I wouldn't put it past those pukes!

37. Mayor Blumberg on now .......doing a Guiliani....during 9/11 He's saying
there wasn't a fire in a Con Ed Plant.......He's saying things are being handled calm and reasonably.

He's saying NO Evidence of Terrorism! He's saying that power is coming back online and it's grid by grid.

He's saying Subway folks are being evacuated and he's telling people to turn off their power so that they don't get "power surges!" He's very confident that NY will be back online before dark. He's saying thinks are going as planned...and NY is reacting very well with no other problems

58. If I were dubya's advisor
Here is the speech that would have been given:

ladies and Gentlemen:

I have been informed that there is a massive power failure affecting major population centers in the Northeast, including the great City of New York.

Upon hearing of the failure, I immediately consulted with Homeland Security and I can tell you at this time that there is absolutely no evidence of terrorism at the root of this outage.

I have contacted Mayor Bloomber, and Gov Pataki, as well as high ranking elected officials from other major area affected by this outage and placed the full services of the Federal Emergency Management Administartion at their disposal if them determine a need. At this moment, I have been assured that such assistance is not required.

I am also imformed that the people of New York City are responding in a calm and orderly manner and showing the country, and indeed the rest of the planet, that New Yorkers are among the most brave people in the world. Again, they are taking the outage in stride and responding with calm and great acts of kindness and compassion. My salute to the people of New York.

Thank you very much

That is exactly what a real leader should do and say. I too am glad you are not his advisor, because obviously when no one is pulling his strings he is lost.

72. I didn't think I could hate this man more. Excuse me...
but several states and a bit of Canada lose power a couple years after 9-11. Granted, due to the heat wave, this should've been expected, but a true leader of the people would get on TV and ease our minds that this is not a terrorist attack and maybe let us know he'd been talking to these states governors about how the situation is progressing? This man needs to go NOW.
