New ARG poll Bush down to 53% approval among registered voters

if you include people not registered to vote it is 54% but it is still going in the right direction--down. I will concentrate on registered voters. In July, 57% approved of Bush.

Among registered voters 53% approve of Bush and 42% disapprove of his job as pRESIDENT.

42% rate the national economy as very good or good while 52% rate it as bad, very bad, or terrible. A total of 40% say that the national economy is getting worse--up from 25% in May.

Among Republicans 88% approve of Bush's job performance
Among Democrats 23% approve and 71% disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job.
Among Independents Bush has an approval of 49-45 percent.

Is the national economy in a recession: by 51-44 percent Americans say yes. In July it was 46-49 saying No.
