7. Damn EMP weapon...

11. Power outtages happened before 9/11, too. Let's see.

53. Damn terrorists....now I have to restart our routers...not on UPS....Milford, CT

60. Al Quaida said they would attack our "backbone". Could they have meant the power grid?

102. Yeah - now there's a vulnerability. Terrorists strike the US by hitting Hydro Quebec.

169. Power out all over Detroit? Does that mean looting?

197. >>...Lucifer's Hammer is about to strike!...<<

3. More...
232. The people of Detroit might burn the city down in rioting if its not fixed by night fall.

305. East Manhattan aerial view...with memories of 9-11.

343. The shots of thousands fleeing NYC is chilling, almost biblical.

363. Gray Davis has a hand in this somehow.

383. could this be payback for power outages in Iraq?

4. It's not their fault... they're mentally disturbed (U.S. Study)
A study funded by the US government has concluded that conservatism can be explained psychologically as a set of neuroses rooted in "fear and aggression, dogmatism and the intolerance of ambiguity".

... All of them "preached a return to an idealised past and condoned inequality".

... The authors also peer into the psyche of President George Bush, who turns out to be a textbook case. The telltale signs are his preference for moral certainty and frequently expressed dislike of nuance.

"This intolerance of ambiguity can lead people to cling to the familiar, to arrive at premature conclusions, and to impose simplistic cliches and stereotypes," the authors argue in the Psychological Bulletin.

5. Yet more...
418. This thing is ugly ..... just wait for the riots and looting to start.

451. Sounds like a terror attack to me, all they have to do is hack into the main power grid computers and overload a few transformers and kapoof... power is out !

478. As far as I can tell the socialists still caused this one!

495. OK but why Detroit? A large muslim community!

497. If the power stays out, the criminal underclass will rule the night.

514. we've been reading about the possibility of such attacks. Even more worrisome is what else they might do, using this power outage.

528. I oughta load up a truck with some cheap .25cal pistols. I'd make a mint.

6. I love when they
openly show the racism. Total idiots.

Remeber the last big East Coast blackout? People helped each other as they usually do in this country in the face of adversity. They really do think all of America is like them.

Anyway, I have power so I'm having a bit of a laugh at them. They've been making jokes at our expense for weeks over the republican's attempt to undo yet another election so I say, neener neener neener.

24. I love their thinly veiled attempts to mask their glee...
They would love for this to be terrorism. They just can't control themselves hoping it is. Paranoid freaks.

8. Still more...
543. we will find out shortly if this was on purpose...they will follow through with something more drastic to extend the problems.

608. Yeah, it should be interesting in the projects tonight. You know how they like to burn their own dwellings and busineses down.

615. It's wartime. Time to call up the National Guard?

667. Northcom reporting looking at options of military support and national guard possibly.

682. If these outages continue into the evening, I fear terrorists may take advantage of the situation.

713. Honestly, does anyone with half a brain believe this B.S. cover story being put out? Who are they kidding? Would the government ever admit it was a terrorist attack unless there was incontrovertible proof (as in, two airplanes going into two buildings, and caught on video)?!

9. Even more...
725. if it spreads across the whole country, think the U.S. Government will finally admit it's a terrorist attack?

738. I think the greater risk is massive looting.

741. While I understand why the Powers That Be have to say, "It's not terrorism", I don't believe that for a minute

757. We were warned the terrorists were planning a "massive attack" this month.

779. Hmmm, how long until an RPG hits NYC's City Hall?

787. In my view this is a terrorist attack until proven otherwise.

818. A caller to Hannity just mentioned a "small plane crash". Hannity cut him off or put him on hold or something. Anybody know about a plane crash?

10. Sadly, more...
861. just wait until the riots start (and they undoubtedly will). Scary, scary times!

894. Better start nailing plywood over your windows...

908. YOU HAVE TO ASSUME TERRORISM IN A CASE LIKE THIS, AND FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO IMMEDIATELY COME OUT AND SAY "NO TERRORISM" - HOW IRRESPONSIBLE IS THAT?!

939. So what caused the overload? Explosion? Sabotage? Plane crash into power station?

966. He's going to use this as an excuse to raise utility taxes.

1019. Last night I saw on the local news (Nashville) that two middle-eastern men got arrested at the airport. They were on the federal 'no-fly' list and both had one-way tickets to New York.
