Oh My God, Oh My God......Oh My BIG F'ING GOD!!!!!!!
Check out the last line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SAVANNAH, Ga. (Reuters) - Facing criticism for methods used to interrogate terrorism suspects held by the United States, President Bush insisted on Thursday he had always ordered questioning methods to remain within the law.
"What I have authorized is that we stay within U.S. law," Bush told reporters in Savannah, Georgia, when asked what measures of interrogation he would authorize if the United States had a terror suspect in custody it knew was planning an attack.

"I'm going to say it one more time. In fact, maybe I can be more clear. The instructions went out to our people to adhere to law," said Bush, speaking at the end of a Group of Eight industrial nations summit.

"That ought to comfort you. We're a nation of law. We adhere to laws. We have laws on the books. You might look at those laws, and that might provide comfort for you. And those were the instructions from me to the government."

AND THOSE WERE THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM ME TO THE GOVERNMENT????!?!?!?!!??!?!

Did (*&* fer brains actually say that?? Why isn't the entire country all over this psycho-babbling God Complexed Freak for this kind of rhetoric??????????

Hey George (dumass) W., you are PART of the Government, not above it you sick )*(&)(*&)*(&)*(%$##$@$%#*_!((_*%!&_!#@~#_!*$)(&#_~#&_!&$_(*&!#_&$_(#&_(@#&!_#&@!()&#(*&##_~!&_&#_(~*&_~(@#&~

whew...sorry. Just really gripes my you know what that the "liberal" media doesn't mop up with this trash!

Still burning.................

3. Arrogance and stupidity are really bad combination.
"That ought to comfort you. We're a nation of law. We adhere to laws. We have laws on the books. You might look at those laws, and that might provide comfort for you. And those were the instructions from me to the government."

I can't really wrap my head around that last barb, he sounded like he was very defensive. I have noticed that people who are guilty to get very defensive and those who are wrongly accused really don't.

6. Yep. And in his D-Day interview with Tom Brokaw
he talked about installing governments in Iraq and Afghanistan. Is it that people are no longer listening or just that they know, they know, they know?

that's why detainees from afghanistan were sent to Gitmo. This was why the US is using Gitmo. Nice try, idiot in chief, no sale!

The stuff he gets away is just sickening, i'm not sure there is a known scale as to measure his almost daily violations of his office and international law.

17. Well, the dumb ass, just incriminated himself with that statement.
"And those were the instructions from me to the government."

he admits sending out the instructions (memo).

The same 3 page "memo" Ted Kennedy asked John Ashcroft to produce to the committee investigating the torture and abuse of the Iraqi prisoners. John Ashcroft refused to relinquish the documents without a good reason for justification.

side note:

I got the distinct impression, Ted had copies of the documents sitting right in front of him as he questioned Ashcroft. He is one helluva good lawyer.

18. "comfort you?"
What is that some sort of "Bible-speak" attempt? Sounds like he is in a bad Sunday School skit: "oh, comfort ye my people!"

Hmmm, and I thought that after stealing that job he has that he was "part" of the Government---not supreme overlord and God.

21. He refused to say torture was wrong
The BBC reporter said it was a moral issue and asked him if he thought it was wrong. Bush said he gave orders to follow the law. That's as good as confessing. GAME OVER We can only pray he gives more press conferences. So many fires, so little water.

isn't that the truth?

He doesn't specify who's "law" ... And IF anyone went outside the "law" and his order to stay within, why isn't he mad as hell at somebody? Isn't disobeying orders from the cic a pretty serious situation?

24. When he says "adhere to the law"...
he is being rather clever/disingenuous. The Justice Dept. memos gave him the impression that the laws on torture under the Geneva Conventions DON'T APPLY to the President. So when he says that he is following the law, that's what he means.

What a douche.

28. Did anybody hear this exchange ?
I did. The BBC reporter was really aggressive in his questioning, something * isn't used to from the lapdogs in this country. As bad as the words look in print, there was anger in his voice, real anger. Or was it fear?}(

29. The "ins" tend to forget
and so do we, unfortunately, WE ARE the government.

Vote, people. Vote.

In our precinct, at six pm, myself and my neighbor were the only two democrats who bothered to vote for the State Party sanctioned replacement, Inez Tenenbaum, and were offered the choice of another Democratic contender, of whom the STATE Party sanctioned controllers, never even gave a word. We didn't even know his name.

They never even let us know his name. Of course, Inez, a republican in democratic clothing was elected by overwhelming majority to compete for the soon to be vacated seat of Fritz Hollings. So, baaaaa, we went down the tubes and the republicans remain in control of South Carolina.

Sigh. So much for "WE, the people."

But, in November, WE the people are going to matter.

And, with all due respect for the dead, do not forget that the neocons promoted, elected and were nourished by Reagan. The taste of and for power has never left them.

I don't know if the unknown who ran against Inez was a liberal, and I will never know. I didn't even know a name to find a website.

So another republican lock stepper, in democratic clothing, if she wins, will be of little help to the State of South Carolina.

Sigh.
