Wonder how the masses will deal with Bush, Sr.'s passing?
I can't imagine him getting the same treatment as Reagan, but still, he's a Republican.

and as we all know, only Republicans were "great presidents". :eyes:

8. Of all the Republican presidents in my lifetime,
he's got to be my favorite. Why? Everybody thought he was a wishywashy wimp. I also LOVED it when he always said "NO NEW TAXES" and then had to turn around and raise them! lol

He was easily mimicked on SNL which was so funny!

Aside from his policies, he was okay. lol

Nah, he was the best Republican president in my lifetime IMHO. (I was born in '64).

Too bad his son is the worst.

13. yawn
I imagine

He is best-remembered by Repukes as the guy who lied and raised taxes.

Now, if L'il George becomes full-on dictator, it will be "Reagan 2--just when you thought it was safe to turn on cable news again . . ."

at least until after the election.

It wouldn' be prudent at that juncture if you departed before
witnessing your idiot son lose, would it?

19. somehow I don't see anybody getting too broken up
over Poppy. I doubt they will over the Chimp either. At Clinton's funeral you will see something that is lacking at Reagan's--the faces of people of color.

20. it wouldn't be prudent to comment at this time ...
... re the man who invented UPS label scanning ... who said, "whatever" frequently indicating how much he cared about the people ... who used the White House to further organize the Carlyle and Blackstone Groups ... who pardoned the Iran-Contra criminals ...
ahhh, the memories ...

25. the day he was elected
A friend of mine was so distraught she came by my place and asked if I had anything to drink. I pointed out the nearly-full fifth of vodka in my fridge and she grabbed it and drained it in one pull. I've never seen anything like it.

I bet she'll show up to your party!

23. You mean there was ANOTHER Prez. Bush?
...that's about what I expect. He might get a bit more press than when Dan Quayle dies, but he never had the "star quality" and cult of personality Reagan did/does.
