US military families push to bring Iraq troops home

excerpt -

A spokesman for U.S. Central Command said that as of Monday, 167 U.S. soldiers had died and 1,006 soldiers were injured as a result of hostile action in Iraq. He told Reuters that 91 other soldiers had died from non-hostile actions and 277 others were wounded.

so 1,006 plus 277 equals ...

1,283 WOUNDED , at minimum so far

------------------------------

hmmmmmm......as of Monday AUG 11 CENCOM will admit to 1,006 soldiers wounded in Iraq in "hostile action", at least acoording to the article.

AND the previous CNN article where...

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- For the first time since the start of the war in Iraq, Pentagon officials have released the number of U.S. troops wounded from the beginning of the war through Wednesday.

Responding to a request by CNN, the Pentagon said more than 1,000 U.S. troops have been wounded or injured in Iraq since March 20, when a U.S.-led airstrike started the war.

The Defense Department provided these figures:

• 791 troops were wounded or injured during combat

• 253 troops were wounded or injured in action not related to combat operations, such as traffic accidents or accidental gunshot wounds

more..................

SO 1,006 wounded in combat as of MON AUG 11, 2003

PLUS the wounded 253 non-combat thru JULY 9, 2003

makes a MIMIMUN WOUNDED count of 1,259.

A count which does NOT
include any wounded since JULY 9, 2003 in "non-combat" injuries.

BUT according to the news article from yesterday, CENCOM says
non-hostile actions wounded is now totalling 277.
SO CENCOM is then saying (277 minus 253) only 24 wounded since that previous report in early JULY in non-combat injuries ????

AND CENCOM is saying only (1,006 minus 791) 215 wounded in combat
in the last 30+ days.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm thats about SEVEN wounded a day in combat for the
last 30 days.

I DONT BUY IT!

The numbers are much much higher. Why would it take at least two transport planes a week to send wounded back to USA ?
