* Genealogy - Anybody figured out who Dubya's cousins are?
Dubya's uncle Jonathan has just gotten in some hot water relative to some major stuff at Riggs Bank in DC.

But that's not why I'm interested.

Who are Dubya's cousins and other relatives NOT his brothers and sisters (who, except for Jeb and Neil, fly under the radar)?

Some folks have tried this before, and felt like some records had been scrubbed.

Anybody have pieces figured out?

Here is a version of great-grandparents apparently gleaned from old census records:

Prescott Sheldon Bush, b. Columbus, Ohio, 15 May 1895, living in St. Louis, Mo., in 1920, U.S. Senator from 1952 to 1963, d. New York, N.Y., 8 Oct. 1972
m. Kennebunkport, Maine, 6 Aug. 1921

Dorothy Walker, b. near Walker's Point, York Co., Me., 1 July 1901, living with parents St. Louis, Mo., 1910, living with parents St. Louis, Mo., 1920, d. Greenwich, Conn., 19 Nov. 1992

Marvin Pierce, b. Sharpsville, Pa., 17 June 1893, living with grandparents Harrison, Hamilton Co., Ohio, 1900, living with parents Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio, 1910, d. Rye, N.Y., 17 July 1969
m. Aug. 1918

Pauline Robinson, b. Ohio, April 1896, living with parents Marysville, Union Co., Ohio, 1900, living with parents Marysville, Union Co., Ohio, 1910, d. Rye, N.Y., 23 Sept. 1949

~~~~~~~~~~~~
One version of the Pierce branch (the former first lady was Barbara Pierce before she was Barbara Bush):
Children of Marvin Pierce and Pauline Robinson (married 1918) are:
i. Scott Pierce
ii. Martha Pierce, born April 21, 1920; died November 13, 1999 in Bloomfield, Hartford co., CT; married Rafferty.
iii. James Robinson Pierce, born May 27, 1921 in New York, NY; died November 15, 1993 in Chicago, IL.
1 iv. Barbara Pierce, born June 8, 1925 in Rye, NY; married President George Herbert Walker Bush January 6, 1945 in Rye, NY.
-- http://www.svu2000.org/genealogy/barbara.htm
~~~~~~~~~~~
One source believed James Robinson Pierce was married about 1949 -- so his offspring could be about Dubya's age. They would be his cousins. Who are they? Males would presumably have the last name Pierce.

According to one post, a New York Times, June 25, 1993 obit of James Robinson Pierce says he had 7 grandchildren.
So, it follows he had children? Who are the children, and the grandchildren?

My hypothesis is that those committing crimes like to keep the secrets and money in the family. Just a hypothesis.

1. Kevin Phillips "American Dynasty"
has lots of info on the background and ancestors of the Bushes including some cousins.

There were also some really good threads on this topic here at DU sometime in the past couple of years, some DUers did serious digging and found some amazing stuff. I'm thinking Bev Harris was involved -- this was before BBV got really big...

5. Thanks, Ithacan
Yeah, Phillips has a nice chart in the front, but it doesn't spread out to cousins.

On p. 72, he notes that 71 members of the extended Bush-Walker family came to Houston for the 1992 Republican National Convention; dozens served as delegates or surrogates at functions spread throughout the city. Twenty-five were brought onto the Astrodome stage for "Family Values Night."

I see scattered references to Uncle Jonathan, a few others, but haven't finished reading the whole book.

6. Cool, Zan! I love these genealogy threads.
because we always find out some new dirt about the dirtiest of the dirty families: the Bush's.

"Under every Bush, there's dirt".

I just read that John Elliot, who is the director of Fox News, is a cousin of George Bush. I've also read that L. Paul Bremer (Emperor of Iraq) is also a cousin, but can't confirm it.

I'm sure you could search right here on the DU: use the search function ....why re-invent the wheel?

We've got some very persistent and clever people right here on the DU. Let's dig out the whole family.

7. Someone needs to find out about the Bush with Munchhausen's syndrome
She tried to kill one of her kids and I believe she lives in Florida now.
She was in the news about 10 to 15 years ago and they said that she was related to the Bush family.
She has disappeared and I have been wondering what ever happened to her because she was suppose to go to prison.

10. Here are two good sites to search.
www.genforum.com
Use the find a forum option for the surnames.

www.rootsweb.com
Choose Mailing Lists, then surnames. There was a lot of discussion about them at one time. Use the search option on the archived lists.

17. Thanks, RFK2
Well, that's another batch of ancestors.

Again, though, no cousins are listed. Lots of folks in past centuries.

Okay, I had heard of the cousin who "happened" to call the election for Dubya in 2000. So, who's kid is he -- where do the Ellis's fit into the family tree (or vine)?

16. Most important, re Shrub's selection..Cousin John Ellis
Was News Announcer who first called selection for Dumbya! John Ellis, same name as John Ellis Bush (AKA J.E.B.) Picture this John Ellis calls selection for his cousin based on votes in his cousin John Ellis' state! Makes a thoughtful person go "Huh?"
