My perfect storm: Bush resigns..Cheney takes his place....
chooses Colin Powell as his Veep. Then Cheney takes the long dirt nap thanks to a dysfunctional pacemaker or "fate" or what have you.

Powelll becomes first African-American president....loses to Kerry in November....and the world becomes a saner place.

Anyone?

the Yankees play the Houston Astros in the World Series . . . Houston wins, four games to three . . . Clemens gets two of the wins, Pettitte gets the other two, and they're named co-MVPs . . . George Steinbrenner jumps off the Brooklyn Bridge . . .
