How much oil is Iraq exporting?

Go to the iraq coalition site. They'll tell you in vague dollar amounts with an annualized number.

The news accounts vary. Usually they say when a pipeline gets hit, but we don't often see when it comes back online. One wonders if the coalition doesn't advertise the restoration because they don't want the pipeline immediately hit again.

5/10/04 - ABC News: Southern Pipeline to Basra hit. "affects most of 1.8 million bpd."

5/25/04 - Turks news: Northern pipeline hit. "Iraqi exports down from 1.65 million barrels/day to 1.25 million bpd."

Hard to tell. One thing I'm sure: it's not enough to pay for a reconstruction of Iraq.

1. The north pipeline

should carry approximately .250 million bpd but it is offline almost the whole time. After the invasion that pipeline is consistently bombed. It takes two or three weeks to get it back up and within a day or two it is bombed again.

The one in the south has been operating pretty much every day until last month. It is now also being targeted by the bombers.
