Nice quotes!
I have no idea of the source of this collection, but someone just posted it on an unofficial listserve centered on my uniom. There are more than a few right-wing Bush-fancying jingoists there, but by no means all.

Rumsfeld: There would be no photos of abused prisoners if not for these
dang digital cameras. Therefore, our next mission will be to rid Iraq
of these weapons of mass distribution. (J. D. Crowe, The Mobile
Register)

The International Red Cross returned Friday to the cell where Saddam
Hussein is held. It's to keep an eye on his safety. After viewing those
photographs from Abu Ghraib prison, Congress wouldn't hesitate to
extend to him the Lend Leash program. (Argus Hamilton)

Over the weekend British Prime Minister Tony Blair apologized for the
mistreatment of Iraqi prisoners. Apparently some of the prisoners were
accidentally given British food. (Conan O'Brien)

IN THE NEWS THE ADMINISTRATION

Rumsfeld: I was wrong on WMDs. I was wrong on troop numbers. I was wrong
on the war's aftermath. I was wrong on handling of prisoner abuse. I
don't think I should resign. But I could be wrong." (Kevin Kallaugher,
The Baltimore Sun)

President Bush told Donald Rumsfeld, 'You are doing a superb job.' I
believe the last time a president said that he was looking under his
desk. (David Letterman)

IN THE NEWS * THE CAMPAIGN AND POLITICS

President George Bush's approval rating has dropped to 46 percent. Let
me put this in perspective. Saddam Hussein's approval rating is 49
percent. ... But Bush is not worried. That's the kind of grades that
got him through Yale (David Letterman)

Hoping to cash-in on his folksy appeal and deflect criticism for some
of his policies, President Bush's campaign bus is now emblazoned with
the new slogan, "Hey, I Just Work Here!"Campaign strategist Karl Rove
explained,"At first we tried to cover up the fact that the President
was basically controlled by guys like Cheney, Rumsfeld and me, but now we
feel like we can cash in the fact that he's doing his best while
other guys are just manipulating him." Mr. Bush unveiled the new slogan
at a rally here in Akron yesterday. "The economy is in the dumpster,
gas prices are at record highs, and our boys are getting picked off in Iraq like fish
in a barrel... but hey, I just work here," said the President as he began his address.
(Jacob Novak)

IN THE NEWS * ELECTRONIC VOTING

Diebold with a Vengence: Anyone can deliver exploitive imagery. At
Diebold, we can deliver the vote. "Diebold. We won't rest"
(salamander.eps)

IN THE NEWS * THE ECONOMY

President Bush said today that the job situation looks good. Yeah,
if you're John Kerry. (Jay Leno)

IN THE NEWS * INTERNATIONAL

Because of the abuse scandal, President Bush is beginning some
diplomatic damage-control by sending Secretary of State Colin Powel to
Jordan to deal with Arab nations. That's typical, a rich White dude
makes a mess and all he can do is call a Black man to go clean it up.
(Jacob Novak)

IN THE NEWS - ENTERTAINMENT

Rush Limbaugh is calling the prisoner abuse in Iraq "nothing worse than
a fraternity prank." Experts say he may be right, but since Rush never went
to college, it's hard to know what the hell kind of fraternity he's talking about.
