Iraq War has accelerated Al Qaida recruitment

LONDON (Reuters) - Al Qaeda has more than 18,000 militants ready to strike and the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq (news - web sites) has accelerated recruitment to the ranks of Osama bin Laden (news - web sites)'s network, a leading London think-tank said on Tuesday.

Al Qaeda's finances were in good order, its "middle managers" provided expertise to Islamic militants around the globe and bin Laden's drawing power was as strong as ever, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) said.

Even though the article mainly just gives credibility to what we've been saying all along. But it's going to fall flat on the blind followers of the right who thinks turning the middle east into a piece of glass will solve all of our problems and make us safe.

Show me one single f*ing terrorist this 'war on terror' has produced, killed or incarcerated.

And cause ya can't, I'll remind everyone what a failure this 'war on terror' is, because it isn't a war on terror.

There is no al queda in Iraq.

"Today, we lack metrics to know if we are winning or losing the global war on terror. Are we capturing, killing or deterring and dissuading more terrorists every day than the madrassas and the radical clerics are recruiting, training and deploying against us?

Does the US need to fashion a broad, integrated plan to stop the next generation of terrorists? The US is putting relatively little effort into a long-range plan, . . .
