There's another important lesson from Iraq that should be noticed

Some among us may wonder how spectacular a failure this neo-con venture has been. Yes we did drop bombs very well. And yes, we did drive our tanks around the desert at will. But everything else seems to have been a colossal disaster.

I read the slate article where there was a story about how Bremer had asked for 220 employees and Feith would not send them over because he wanted only the "true believers" to be in positions of power.

In fact, it seems that Feith is one of the neo-con purists that has had his filthy hands in everything that hes been perpetrated upon the world, in the name of the US. His war and post-war planning was marked by a singular desire to filter out any information or data that might weaken his predetermined beliefs about the benefits to Israel of warring in Iraq. Of course, the oil men saw their cut as being pretty sweet as well.

Faith Based policy is the point at issue here. The entire political spectrum seems now to have been injected with religion overtones. Liberals of course are the haters of religion. But it may be worthwhile to ponder for a moment the consequences of un-challanged beliefs. Of painting the world in black and white. Of good and evil. Of sinner or saint. This is precisely what fundamentalist religion does. It purports to say that "we" have done all the thinking for you and we have reached the following conclusions: A B C.

As though nuanced thought is somehow bad. It doesn't show resolve. Well here is where your fucking "resolve" got us mr. "Lance Armstrong" bush.

2. I don't care if he is Jewish. I do know about his Israeli connections

A protégé of Richard Perle, the former chairman of Rumsfeld's Defense Policy Board (DPB) who stands at the center of the neo-conservative foreign-policy network in Washington, Feith has long opposed territorial compromise by Israel.

He was an outspoken foe of the Oslo process and even the Camp David peace agreement mediated by former President Jimmy Carter between Egypt and Israel. His former law partner, L. Marc Zell, is a spokesman for the Jewish settlers' movement on the occupied West Bank.

But, more to the point, virtually everything that has gone wrong in Iraq – especially those matters that Congress is either investigating or is poised to probe – is linked directly to his office. "All roads lead to Feith," noted one knowledgeable administration official this week.

3. Perhaps the neocons should all move to Israel!

Protect Israel from there. Or maybe even put on a military uniform and go to Iraq. Let's see how bold and brazen they would be then. Begin with Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith, Frum, Abrams, Rummy, Cheney, Rush, Hannity, Blitzer, etc. They should get the fuck out of this country and leave us the hell alone!!!

I guess I will be hounded down from now on.
