4. Gephardt, in my opinion, would bolster Nader's share of the vote
But it's possible he supports their positions on NAFTA, and chose them for that reason.

5. Gephardt would bolster
voter ritual sepukku. The squirrel running around in my back yard has more personality...

6. I think Gephardt would be an awful choice, but Edwards would be good
Edwards is my third choice behind Graham and Landrieu

10. Gep voted against welfare reform also
and has a long time record of supporting the working people. i have talked to some workers in california who are big fans of gephardt. they aren't partisan democrats or even all that into politics the way some are. but they have a lot of respect for him and could easily support him . and that's the point, kerry knows gep is not popular among internet users. but there are people out there who do or will vote and gep can help with those voters . and that's why kerry is looking at him.

7. Selecting Gephardt GUARANTEES a second
Bush administration. If Gephardt, even LESS charismatic than Kerry, is selected as VP candidate, get used to saying President Bush for another four years, possibly 12 if they groom Jebby for the roll in 2008.

Gephardt is not the friend of workers. He is pure Washington insider. That's all we need is two guys seen as pure DC and with little connection to average people. Gephardt has missed many important votes (July 10, 2003 vote on overtime being one of the most important from last year)

http://www.hillnews.com/news/052003/gephardt.aspx

Gephardt skips 85% of House votes
By Sam Dealey and Sarita Chourey

Rep. Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.) has missed 162 votes in the House this year — 85 percent of the total — prompting Republicans to charge that he has abandoned his congressional duties in his pursuit of the presidency.

Those "representatives" who did not vote on July 10, 2003 when the overtime legislation came up for a vote...

NOT VOTING:
Cramer
Gibbons
Millender-McDonald
Fletcher
Goss
Owens
Fossella
Harman
Payne
Gephardt
Houghton
Sanchez, Loretta

8. Drop out and you can have our ear.
We don't need you to win. Which is the ONLY reason you are even dealing with us.

Nader will not be a factor this time.

14. I half agree. Edwards.
I think Gephardt is old hat and would do nothing to help the ticket outside of his home state.
Missouri?
