CONTACT AIR AMERICA -- DON'T LET RANDI GO
At the beginning of her show today, Randi Rhodes indicated that she might not be back.

They have her working in a non-air conditioned studio, they don't promote her show and who knows what else is going on.

I know from listening to her show in FL for years that she doesn't bluff. If she makes up her mind to go, she'll go. She's the best thing AAR has going for them and we can't let it happen.

If you don't like her, fine. But if you do like her, go to
airamericaradio.com and send them an e-mail telling them to give her whatever she wants.

They/we can't afford to lose her.

24. Randi has more courage to go after Bush than the other hosts
That's what I like about her. Franken's good but he holds back.

25. Exactly, she calls him stupid flat out
"The man is an idiot." She just said it as I write this. She's the only one to just say it. She says it over and over on every show.

31. Migraines and heat do not mix.
the migraine makes you hot and sweaty, sitting in a hot room or car just makes it worse.

12. Not so
During the 2000 election, she raised hell in FL from election day on. She's fully committed to getting rid of the maniacs running this country. Have listened to her for years. It's much more than a "comfort issue."

9. What exactly did she say?
I doubt she'll give up this large new audience. That would be a shame. I think she has wonderful national potential. I really enjor her show and I've always been averse to the talk radio format generally.

11. I heard that also
she said she is going back to Florida this weekend and if she comes back it will be a miracle. Tim said "really?" She told him he could stay and find a place on the vast Air American network if he wanted.

Yesterday she said she was very unhappy in NYC. She also has said no one in the studio is friendly toward her except for Janeanne. It is a little amusing that on the home page for Air America, we see Franken's mug up there first, right up front with Katherine, interestingly, standing not on the same level, but behind him. He is not on first, Morning Sedition is first and should be at the top and that is followed by Unfiltered. But he has captured the top spot on the home page. There are two shows ahead of his noon slot. Franken imo, is the least interesting and the most boring of them all. I often lose interest. I like Randi and am sorry they could not be nicer to her. I hope it gets straightened out, but I notice that she did reserve the right to keep her broadcast from her own home page--smart lady who may have had a intuition. She should stick up for herself.

13. There are several out there who could replace her.
Lynn Cullen for one.

Maybe Randi should take a look at herself, instead of blaming others for her unhappiness. Seems she has an inferiority problem as she has to say at least once or twice a show how rich she is, or how good she is etc. I guess it's part of her shtick.

18. I doubt if Lynn would want to leave Pittsburgh
She's over 50 and kinda comfortable now. She even mentioned this last week. Earlier in her career maybe Lynn would've considered.

I sure hope Randi sticks around, but if she doesn't I got another nominee who would be great and is out of work at the moment and looking for a national gig. A fellow named John McIntyre - he's very liberal, bashes Bush with the best of them - over the top and can do impersonations plus do talk and interviews. Anyone remember that fast-talking guy who did FedEx commercials, well John used to do Dubya bashing rants at that speed at the end of his show that had me howling. He hosted a local 9PM TV talk show in Pittsburgh - Nighttalk M-F till the idiots wanted to cut his salary so John walked.

In fact he's mentioned he's talked to the guys who left AAR before they left.

I know you are right about Lynn. Maybe they could just run her show
from Pgh. I listened to her for years.

14. Air America needs more publicity
Before they launched the network they were all over the news. Now that they are in trouble...its like Air America doesn't even exist.

" Newsweek highlighted the debut in a big three-page spread. Newsweek.com also featured an April 12 Al Franken interview with tough questions like “Why are Democrats such wimps? Why don't they fight back?” Coverage since then? Zero.

• ABC promoted the launch with two stories from reporter Jake Tapper on the March 11 Good Morning America and the March 28 World News Tonight. Peter Jennings noted the network's debut in an anchor brief on March 31, and Ted Koppel devoted an entire Nightline program to Air America on April 1. (Koppel didn’t even devote an entire Nightline to the murder of Nicholas Berg.) Network coverage of Air America's troubles? Zero."

If she wants to leave. Then...C ya! I'd rather listen to someone who wants to be there than doesn't.

So, if you're leaving Randi, Don't let the door hitcha

22. Sorry xultar - we need her

This is not a time for hollywood celebs and wannabees to do a little radio until the big thing comes along. This woman has the knowledge and the ability to stop the right in its tracks, and the balls to say so.

For the first time in many years I can see this side fighting back - they throw a rock, we throw a rock. They lie - we call them on it. Randi is an encyclopedia of knowledge - so she's shrill, so she talks over callers. Would you rather have her gone - gee, maybe Gore or Cuomo are available?

If she leaves, WHO on AAR will take up the slack? Think they'll hire Malloy? Yea, sure. No, they'll hire another "name" who happens to be a liberal.

If you want this station to die, send her off. Then we can have 24 hours of "dream diary" and ranting celebrities. Oh, I can see the right quivering already...

32. No- we don't need the complaining part!

Hell, I could care less if she thinks she's fat or not or what her apartment has or doesn't have - and by the time her show ends I feel "wonderfully mad."

That's good - I think. :)

23. Randi rocks
She just about the only person who tells it like it is, and she tells it with facts. She is the first person to say don't believe anything you hear on the radio. Look it up for yourself.

If AAR was to lose her, they would lose me as a listener. I can't stand Franken.

34. She's nothing like Limbaugh
Limbaugh deals in half-truths, illogic and personal attacks.

Randi deals in facts and thinks logically.

Randi and Limbaugh are quite different.

26. She could always do the show from ....

Florida. Seriously, nothing says she can't just go back to Florida and still work for Air America.

On a side note, Air Conditioning isn't an outrageous demand. If cold is what she needs, they should hire Sherpas to haul Ice into her studio ;-)

27. What are they thinking?
"The network has also made efforts to get Democratic party presidential nominee John Kerry to spend more of its campaign money on ads aired on Air America."

Because AA is losing money they want to bring Kerry down with them? Couldn't he find a better place to spend precious resources than preaching to his own choir?

And I think this is worst shes ever been.
I have a much harder time listening to her now and often just shut it off.
Seems like she started going downhill when her personal life was going through its changes last year. And TIm and the giggles and the inside jokes. Ugghhh.
