2. It nearly killed Luntz when his real-time polling machine just about...
...fried its circuits from the overwhelmingly positive response to Al Gore's 2000 nomination acceptance speech.

One other observation: Luntz wears too much lipstick.

9. One thing to remember about Hardball, their Nielson Rating
is something like a .02. In a nation of almost 300 million people, Hardball has 200,000 devoted viewers. In the remote area of California, where I live, how many viewers? Three? Four?

10. I saw some clip with Lunz yesterday..and he's "dying his hair..." and red
Edited on Mon Aug-11-03 08:05 PM by KoKo01
heads really have some problems with the color when they dye their hair......plus his eyes were blood shot and he looked like what I imagine a WWII oppostion sympathizer would look like under "interrogation" from a "friendly side" after they had committed war crimes...

In other words......he looked pretty bad...not the old Frank Lunz of "pre-Selection".

Maybe I caught him on a bad day....but he looked like someone whose "guts of conscience" were giving him pain....but maybe he was more "with it" today. His "evil" side was having a good day! LOL's :D

11. you'd better watch the replay
I turned on a few minutes of the horrorshow, and everybody save one was SAVAGEly against Bush. to the question, "what could Bush do to keep you from voting in the Dem caucus," one woman said, "well, besides getting a lobotomy...."!!!!

these people were p*ssed! (only about a three minute segment)

the latest mantra was being employed by Dornan and Luntz, when trying, in obvious distress at the strong reactions against the squatboy: Bush hatred

hatred is the key word you'll be seeing used.....I've heard it already, for about the last week or so.

dems 'hate' bush, even some independents 'hate' Bush

this is being orchestrated, as I've heard it from MANY different sources. you KNOW the provenance.

'Hate' is clearly a charged word being employed to cast aspersions on those who disagree w/pugs' political positions. one does not merely disagree with the saintly republicans, they HATE them.

the implication is obvious.

anyone who disagrees with the annointed one is a hater, someone with an emotional pathology, not to be taken seriously.

and don't forget that person is most likely unpatriotic at best, a terra-ist sypmpathizer, most likely

do they think they're being subtle with this latest ploy?

just wait and see how often you hear the word "hate" used in conjunction with the sagging shrub poll numbers

13. Yes I caught it
Edited on Mon Aug-11-03 09:47 PM by Nederland
His attempt at masking his rabid, salivating Republicanism is truly something to behold. He just interviewed an audience of lobotomized shills, several of whom claimed to be Democrats who supported Bush.

You spend far too much time on DU. Contrary to what you see around here, as many as 20% of all Democrats support Bush at this point in time. Heck, as Ralph Nader will tell you (BTW, I despise Nader) twelve times as many Democrats voted for Bush as voted for him. That's 25%. So yes, there are Democrats that support Bush, and you see that reflected in Luntz's sample. He's a pollster for christ's sake--he gets paid to get statistically accurate samples of people together, not samples consisting of 100% rabid left wing Bush haters.

14. Nederland, you are in Never_Neverland
You should spend more time reading the final exit polls than knocking DU.

I'm too lazy to look for the actual numbers, but my best recollection is that at most 12-14% of Dems voted for Bush; only about 6% of Repukes voted for Gore..

17. Luntz is never introduced as a GOP pollster, but the Dem pollsters are.
I notice that Luntz is never introduced as a Republican pollster. His font merely states "Frank Luntz, Pollster". Yet, the Democratic pollsters are introduced and fonted as such.

24. Oops!
I didn't see this thread before posting this:

From the Wesley Clark Yahoo group:

I actually know Frank Luntz from my days as a Teenage Republican (I
know, but it was a different GOP back then and I was a VERY liberal
Republican!) in Connecticut back in the 1970s. We also went to the
University of Pennsylvania at the same time, and he even used to live down the street from my current home in Arlington. Anyway, my
feelings about Luntz can't really be printed in a family discussion
group, but let's just say he was a weaselly/slimeball back in the
1970s, he was a weaselly/slimeball in the 1980s and 1990s, and he's a
weaselly/slimeball today. But he's a clever weaselly/slimeball,
having written the "Contract ON America" for Newt and friends.
Blech...
