ANWAR, OIL Reserves... the latest excuse to pass the buck
bush*'s excuse: it's the Democrat's fault for not passing Cheney's energy plan...
so assume we had started drilling in ANWAR 3 years ago -- sorry the oil there wouldn't be flowing into our gas tanks now -- drilling and building the infrastructures would not be near completion now
Oil reserves? drop in the ocean and wouldn't do much to bring down prices now
according to previous news reports -- part of the problem is lack of oil refineries -- oil companies have been shutting down refineries over the past 5 years
OPEC increase production? Still leaves us with the same problem of not enough refineries
The oil embargo during the 70's should have been a 6-alarm wake up call that it is time to break the oil habit...
We need to do more than just find 'quick fixes' and stop slapping bandaids on the situation. We need real programs and plans encourage conservation and fuel effiency to address short term problems. And we need programs/plans to get off the oil and start exploring alternative-clean-renewable resources for our energy needs.
We need a leader with real vision, with real ideas and not an ass that just jawbones
1. Their seems to be lots of oil it is just the cost is going up.
I have yet to hear that their is no oil. I do not get what is going on. What type of profits are the oil companies making? Europe cost has not gone up as it is high already. I think they just wish us to pay what Europe does. The Corp. can also blame it on the Middle East trouble. I know ECO101 was never my thing but in the 70's you had to line up to get gas, as their was not much, but no one is lined up now it, the gas. just went up.
