There was a time when there was a deduction for taxes on gasoline was allowable. But that good old 'tax reform' and 'tax reductions' were taken away in the REagan administrtion. Likewise the threshhold for deducting medical expenses was raisef from 3% to 7% of adjusted gross income. And most dittoheads feel good when they are told they just had a tax reduction.
