Michale Moore Says Bush Despises Our Troops

Michael Moore to Unleash 'Shock and Awe' before Election

Washington Dispatch
May 18, 2004

Academy Award winner, Michael Moore is intent on releasing his newest documentary, Fahrenheit 9/11, before the November presidential elections. In an all day press spree at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday, Moore stated that he had no worries that the film would not make the deadline.

In one interview Moore was asked about the recent Abu Ghraib scandal and responded by saying, "George W. Bush and his ilk, they actually despise our troops. Only someone who despises our young people, who offer to serve and protect our country and give up their lives if necessary, would send them to war based on a lie. This is the worst violation of trust you could have and the worst way to treat our troops. He is against our troops, he has put them in harm's way for no good reason other than to line the pockets of his friends and benefactors."

Moore openly hopes to influence the election when stating, "audiences are going to be in shock, and they are going to be in awe and they are going to respond accordingly" he also said that he "wanted to show how they (the American people) were manipulated" by the Bush administration. Moore, possibly sarcastically, stated that he would be interested in attending a White House screening of the film.

I would love to join you all, and Michael Moore, at that White House Screening.

PS - Should we bring anything like popcorn, or is that another BushCo White House freebie covered with taxpayer money, too?

12. it's true
W & Cheney hate our troops... soldiers are real men and women and fake men like * & Cheney hate that and have to tear them down. Look at what they did to McCain & Cleland and have tried to do to Kerry.

Knowing that they were basically untrained and live in a culture of obedience in the first place creates a context where they were putty in the hands of the privates MIs.

18. Bush is also not above hiding behind the troops as well
Rumsfeld either, that's what his 3hours in Baghdad were all about, hiding behind people who risk their lives everyday and calling himself a "survivor". What a bunch of sick bastards.
