6. There is nothing but God
so God is everything....what we see as imperfections are shadows, which always indicate the presence of Light.

7. Sure, why not?
One fine day He was perfectly bored so He created the Universe. That was perfect, so He created man -- sort of like "reality television" on a planetary scale.

8. Circular.
(St.) Thomas Aquinas defined 'perfect' as fully satisfying the purpose for which a thing is created. The Original "Is" wasn't 'created' and encompasses all Purpose.

11. Yes, God is perfect.
However, he gave men the choice to be however they want. Needless to say, we've screwed it all up six ways from Sunday.

12. And if s/he's omnipotent, can s/he make an object so big
... s/he can't move it?

I think I had this conversation with a nun in 4th grade, already.

Oh shit, here I am breaking my rule on getting into God threads. But criminy. Can't we at least start out at a level less sophomoric than this?

Regretting opening my mouth already....

15. Yes.
Everything is how it should be, or it wouldn't be. (I think the bigger question is "could God make a rock so big that even God can't move it?")

16. Rocks and what's the difference?
All He has to do is make a rock so big He doesn't want to move it.

17. I believe God is infinite and perfection is also an infinite concept
I don't believe God can be defined as perfect by man's definition of perfection. Don't believe we can comprehend true perfection anymore than we can comprehend true divinity. (Just my personal beliefs here). I believe one of the greatest problems with religion is man's need to define the Divine by man's terms. Sort of like a car wreck - the person on corner A has a completely different perspective than that of the person on corner B, the guy at home watching coverage of the wreck on the tube has another perspective. The drivers of the cars each have their own perspectives as do the passengers. Only the squirrel that is laughing up in the tree knows the real story.

18. You are a human being
(Me too, I hope)

Whatever standard of perfection God lives up to is a standard promulgated by God or someone higher than God. (Man, we were so baked... I was higher than God!)

So no matter how fucked up Gods appears to you, me or XTC, we can't judge whether he's perfect by God standards.

he would have to "be" in the first place.
