6. Of Course
this poll is utterly unscientific and speaks more about the people who read MSNBC. Nevertheless, let us hope that the margin of victory is indeed this big!

25. Actually, I usually find the MSNBC polls to be very slanted to the Repukes
Which is what makes this poll so interesting....Stay tuned for the other major "official" polls...then again, maybe not, because we know who controls those...

20. Unscientific polls mean nothing
Folks, I am with you, but don't get worked up over such a meaningless poll!!! Anyone with a mild statistics background can tell you that this poll is heavily biased. It only reflects the feeling of the readers of MSNBC that chose to respond.

I hope Bush gets beaten worse than this poll though...

In the meantime send your thoughts to Zell in Georgia.

I will tell you one poll that needs to be taken - and I am very serious here. Although the credibility of a poll from this site would be deemed questionable from "the other side," on election day it would be really cool to mobilize a lot of DUers to take exit polls near polling stations and compare the results to the result of the election. I would hope the DUers would be honest regardless of their distaste for bush!!!! In particular, this should be done near those polling places that creepo diebold systems has their potentially fraudulent software installed. Any large statistical disparity should warrant great concern. The question in the event of an apparent bush coup would be - what next? Would there be any way to invalidate a fraudulent election? preparations for a bush coup need to be done now because peeople were not ready for it during his first coup.

Maybe I should start a new thread on this.

17. Still more work needs to be done
The media need to awaken and educate the moderate and independent voters

I still hear stupid comments like "We should rather fight the terrorists in Iraq than in NY or Washingon" or "Have you forgotten the WTC already when you make a big deal of the prisoner abuse?"

It is astonishing that many people still think that Iraq had something to do with 9/11, that it is full of terrorists and that Dubya is showing strong leadership against opposition by the "libs" against the perpetrators of 9/11.

22. when you hear people say this, do what i do...
point and laugh

they obviously aren't terribly informed, and are regurgitating some right wing talking points they heard 2 years ago. it's our job to enlighten them, however you see fit. i, personally, find humiliation to be highly effective.

maybe i should've been in MI...

34. Actually I disagree
While I want to laugh at someone for being so utterly stupid, I find I come across as more credible when I remain cool, calm, collected, and state the facts. Then if they throw a fit they lose. Always stay cool and display minimal emotion. Works for my negotiations.

49. There are numerous threads here in which you'll find such advice.
People do note that when they're as dispassionate as possible and offer only the facts (and just a few, not a deluge), you might make somebody angry, but they're not as likely to take it personally. That way you may tick them off but you may also have scratched an itch. A few have also added that the person who was annoyed with them one day would come back asking questions and seeking info the next.

But there are obviously MANY approaches available for MANY people. the important thing is to exercise at least one of them. The only truly wrong and 100% effective approach is to do nothing.
