What did you think when Clinton appointed Wm Cohen as Sec of Defense?
Wm Cohen was a moderate Repub from Maine, very intelligent, and very knowledgeable in military affairs. Did Clinton make a mistake by appointing him as Sec of Defense? After all, it did not stop any criticism of Clinton or his military policies? So, is it bad policy to appoint any Repub to any important positions in a Democratic Administration?

1. Did you ever see the Michael Moore piece on Cohen?
It was hilarious, and really, it will make you cry if you watch it now. It was in an episode of his "awful truth" show.

He was mocking Cohen for being too "peaceful," because he is a romantic, and writes bad poetry, and is polite, and soft-spoken.

In other words, the anti-Rummy.

2. Is this about John McCain?
Hey, I respect and admire the dude, too, but he's a Republican. Not a neo-Con, but he does advance a set of policies at odds with those of Democrats.

It's no shame to admire a man with whom you disagree. It is an honor that truthfulness compels when your opponent is honest and courageous and fights for his ideals. But we need not make John McCain the VP candidate to pay him his due.

The best way we have to show John McCain our respect for him is to make the sharpest, strongest case we can for our policies and philosophies.

An old Japanese samurai/philosopher once wrote, "Oh, how I long for a for worthy of my sword!" If the John McCains of the world are those "foes," then it is up to us to bring a worthy battle.

You don't think I'd say that kind of thing about Team Bush, do you?

3. For an answer, ask how many Democrats hold key positions in any
Repuke maladministration, especially Shrub's?

4. In stark contrast...
to my unwillingness to trust anything in the current misAdministration- I trusted Clinton to call upon the best available
men and women. I liked Cohen just fine, thank you.
