All roads lead to Chalabi: Perhaps even the 'suiciding' of David Kelly
I caught this little subtle reference on a political satire site of all places. But I think the reference is real! That David Kelly analyzed intelligence received from the US of intelligence provided BY "Iraqi Defectors". That's CHALABI!!!!!

See here (about half way down on the right re the Blair/David Kelly story):

http://www.moderateindependent.com/

"Had Dr Kelly been a fantasist he would not have been the only Briton receiving intelligence information obtained by the US from Iraqi defectors, he said," the Independent reports.

*****It's hard to say on a satircal site what is made up and what isn't.....but if this is true, it sure does seem like Chalabi is at the center of the Iraq universe......

***oh, and check out that whole site...it's a riot!

1. You're right about Chalabi popping up everywhere lately
--on one thread there is speculation about his involvement in the bombing of the Jordanian embassy in Baghdad. Whew!

Still, "Iraqi defector" sounds more like someone from Saddam's army or a scientist. Chalabi left Iraq ages ago, didn't he? So he's more an exile than a defector. There is one guy--who testified to Biden's committee (and maybe to the CIA as well?), who is a scientist (though some have accused him of puffing up his importance when he defected). I can't find his name right now, but maybe it's something like Hamzi? Supposedly he was in charge of Saddam's nuclear program. He was treated with great respect by Biden and the others in the committee, but I've read (somewhere!??) that he is slimy.

Wish I could footnote all this, but it's late and I'm tired, and my initial efforts to find articles failed, so I'll leave it for now....)

2. Chalabi, Rumsfeld, Ossama, Dubya, Cheney, the House of Saud....
...these business ties are thicker than blood, and they go way back, and they are pervasive. And there's no assurance that Rumsfelds ability to be a judge of good character has improved since he sat across the table from and shook Saddam's hand. More madness to perpetuate the cycle and keep that money and oil flowing upwards...
