| are we witnessing "Casey's CIA Redux" with Rumsfeld?? |
|
After watching all of the testimony and reading as many articles as I possibly can, topping it off with Sy H's recent piece, it seems to me that we have yet another Extra-Constitutional operation going on here.
Cambone is Rumsfeld's Ollie North. Rumsfeld doesn't like the rules. So, they create their little Intel group within DoD to circumvent what they don't like.
Good grief. These folks just don't change, do they??
PS, I tried going through some of the other postings, especially those concerning Sy H, and didn't see a dicussion like this, so if there was, I've missed it...and apologize in advance if this is a dupe of someone else's posting.

is it yet another or just a continuation of the US dirty tricks we have been up to for years, starting with overthrowing Iran's democratically elected government after WWII to the present.

The Afghanistan and other prisoners at Gitmo are classified "enemy combatants" and as such, AG A$$hcroft and others have opined, have no Geneva Convention protection. Why? WTF is the difference between a POW and an "enemy combatant," other than A$$hcroft's and Rumsfeld's twisted semantics? If Geneva is suspended at Gitmo, WTF is going on there?
Now, back to Iraq. What were the prisoners at Abi Ghraib prison? POWs? Enemy combatants? Street thugs? This whole thing is so far above the heads of seven (or so) PFCs and Non-Coms that it stinks for what it is: a fish rotting from the head down.

It does not matter what you call captives. They all have to be treated humanely. Rummy & Myers are guilty of war crimes.

In January 2003, Norman Schwarzkopf, who had been the commander of the first Gulf War, put it even more bluntly: "Candidly, I have gotten somewhat nervous at some of the pronouncements Rumsfeld has made.... He actually gives the impression that he enjoys this kind of thing."http://the-spark.net/other/wardebat.html
