Will Repuke candidates for House/Senate abandon Bush--new CNN poll...
From the CNN/Time poll released today:

"The poll also indicated that Bush's troubles may hurt the GOP in other races. On the generic ballot for congressional races, Democrats have a 13 point lead among likely voters."

If these numbers continue heading south, will the Repuke candidates want to campaign alongside W?

1. If the tables were turned...
"Kerry and Bush are essentially tied over who would handle Iraq better -- 46 percent to 43 percent."

The headline would be "Bush has commanding lead over Kerry..."

2. Exactly
And Mr. Fud, uh, I mean Schneider, pointed out that Kerry's lead over Bush (51 to 46) was within the poll's margin of error. Yes, technically plus or minus 4.5 puts anything with a spread of 9 points or less within the poll's margin of error. Somehow I doubt though that if it were Bush 55, Kerry 46, Mr. Magoo, uh, I mean Schnieder, would be so eager to point out that that is in the margin of error.

3. He's terribly upset. Visibly upset. This is MOST unsettling for him.

Usually, if the polls swing better for bush, this American Enterprise Institute lackey is there interpreting all over the place with a very subtle BUT visible twinkle in his eye. At the end of his reports, he bows out smiling as the anchor outros him. THIS performance today was telling. No way he could spin it for bush because it's increasingly apparent by the week that bush is going DOWN. And I think Schneider can sense this, pollster that he is. He was NOT smiling, but very somber-looking, when the anchor thanked him for his report and bye-bye'd him. And no twinkle in the eye, throughout his piece. None.

Schneider knows the jig is up. Pollster that he is. He can't crunch the numbers the way he wants to. The numbers refuse to play ball with him. The numbers are unavoidable and are telling him things he doesn't want to face: that he's rooting for THE WRONG TEAM.

4. A Repuke is a Repuke is a Repuke: their politics and ideology are far more
important to them than the Republic, our Constitution, the law, international law, international treaties, the environment, the fiscal soundness of the Federal government, international goodwill and our standing among nations, right or wrong, you name it for they will march blindly in virtual lockstep to the beat of their drummer, no matter how wrong-headed, illegal, immoral, unjust. Of course that's just my opinion based on decades of observation.
