Poll question: So we agree that there is something strange about the Berg case?
Edited on Fri May-14-04 01:09 PM by Screaming Lord Byron
We're disagreeing, but are our disagreements over detail? Is there a consensus that there is a lot more to Nick Berg's case than meets the eye? Some of the theories are way out there, but do most of us agree that we are not being told the full truth? not just about the video, but about Berg's time in Iraq as a whole?

1. I don't think it was fake, BUT...
...something is off about the whole "We held him, we didn't hold him" bit...

2. Yeah, that is probably a more fertile area for investigation.

to stay out of GD...:spank:

There is definitely something rotten in Denmark re: Berg, but to my mind it's no more or less than 99% of everything this band of lunatics get their hands on.

edited to reflect the neuvo name of "Denmard", which all you young hipsters now call "Denmark'...crazy kids...:eyes:

:D

4. I'm hooked on GD now. It's too late for me, son.
I'm just trying to bring people together on this, if that's not foolish.

13. I have to admit, it took Nick Berg to bring me out of the lounge!
GD seems to have settled down a bit in the past few months, no?

5. I don't need to dissect the details of the video to know something's fishy
Edited on Fri May-14-04 01:05 PM by ibegurpard
The timing of the release, the fact that there is a huge discrepancy between the government line as to Berg's detainee status compared to the diplomatic proof the Berg family has and the political affiliation and anti-war activities of the Berg family all cause me to flatly reject the idea that this should be taken at face value.

7. Thanks, ibegurpard., That's what we're talking about.
Skin colour, white chairs and wedding rings don't matter. Whereabouts, masked men and whether or not Berg was detained and by whom do.

make me wonder what they're hiding.

There is something blatantly wrong with this story. Can I put my finger on it yet? No way, but that doesn't stop me from trying to figure it out.

11. The timing is suspect
The video just happened to come out in the middle of the worst scandal of this admin. It was the one that was actually going to stick to Bush.

I feel like they needed something to distract us from Abu Ghairb.

12. I have been trying to get straight in my head....
what I know from facts that have been put forward and this is all I come up with:

A young man is dead. How, when, who did it and why are all still big questions to me. The conflicting, ever changing statements by various bush admin spokespersons only increases my number of questions, they do not answer anything.

something stinks here. I can't put my finger on it yet. But my gut feeling is that there's more here than meets the eye.

16. yes,
i've been working through the various news pieces
and theories all day, haven't come to any conclusions
but, there's a lot of disinformation being fed to the public.

the administration has lied once already when they claimed
the Feds were not holding Nick Berg prior to his death, hmmm
you gotta wonder why...

17. On every one of these polls...
...where a "Bushbot" option is included, there are two that take the bait. I find it humorous. If I were into pattern recognition, I'd comment more...or maybe I wouldn't.

Where are all the people who've been nyuking "I got it - the chair did it!"

21. It would appear that they don't believe the official story either.
I've seen a few change opinions in the last few hours. Perhaps more will follow. This stinks to high heaven. I'm not claiming the CIA did it, but I'm not buying the official line either, I'm just saying this is merely the tip of the Iceberg. It could be Al Queda, it could be BlackOps, it could be persons unknown, I don't know.

22. Fact: the *cabal LIES about any/everything
Yawning boys, BA airborne sightings, plastic turkeys...
IIRC, Stickdog did a great list "they KNEW it or they BLEW it." It's L-O-N-G.

HOW IS THERE ANY DOUBT LEFT THAT Y'ALL ARE BEING LIED TO ABOUT EVERY DAMN THING - THAT YOU CAN COUNT ON IT, TAKE IT TO THE BANK???

Sorry for shouting, but my knickers got righteously twisted this morning when I read about CNN quoting an anonymous "CIA official" saying there was a "high probability" al-Z committed the dastardly deed (THAT cow is now out of the barn) THEN read the interview with Octavia Nasr. (Her comments were only icing on the cake as MANY HERE THERE AND EVERYWHERE reported OBVIOUS questions about the audio). Her comments RULE OUT in any way, shape or form that the guy the *corp media is trying to finger did it. IF THE SPEAKER DID NOT HAVE A JORDANIAN ACCENT, HE WAS NOT al-Z. It's a LIE! Next question.

STRANGE??? STRANGE??? THIS isn't STRANGE, it's FUBAR!!! :freak: :freak: :argh:

Meanwhile U.S. tanks are rolling over a graveyard in Najaf...

I think I go to bed now. If the planet blows up overnight, don't disturb me. I really need to get some good sleep.
