Its Supposed to be " The Defense Dept"...Not "The Dept of Offense"
Bushy and his Crew have been guilty of changing the Nature of the Defense Dept from Defending America to Offending the World.

They took a Damn Good Dept and made it into what we see today.. a Hated Dept.

The Troops are innocent as white snow, its those leaders in charge who take our good people into the "Valley of Death" with poor plans and agendas. Bush had the support of the Global Community after 9/11 and he splurged it with poor decisions galore wasting the opportunity to do the right thing, get Bin Laden.

Lets do all we can to get our troops back to their basic job of defending America and not offending other Nations and its peoples.

1. War Department
After WW2 the name was changed to Department of Defense ... It sounded, well, less aggressive for the nuclear age.

But if honesty in packaging were to be applied for the Bush regime, we have to go back to calling it the War Department.

4. After all, Bush has said he is "The War President"
thereby losing respect /credibility to a lot of Nations who know better.

5. Not exactly.
Prior to the creation of the Department of Defense we had a cabinet level Department of War, which had authority over the army, and a cabinet level Department of the Navy. When the Defense Department was established the army, navy, and the newly created air force were all brought in under its purview. It is ironic though that since then we have never fought a defensive war.
