11. This whole cycle of violence is just horrid.

As far as Lieberman's alleged comments go, I wonder how he can rationalize that statement. Iraqis have reportedly been raped and murdered. Of those who were simply detained citizens, who were forced to perform a sex acts, be naked in a dark cell for days on end, I would imagine these people will have lifelong deleterious consequences.

The American who was reportedly beheaded, as horrific as it is, I have to wonder exactly how horrific of a death that is. Once the neck arteries and veins are severed, the brain would lose all blood pressure, and I would guess that would create an immediate loss of consciousness. Anyone know?

So which is kinder? Acts which lead to lifelong memories and likely Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? Or a quick death?
