Hah! Krugman agrees with me!
lol - just a chortling note.... feel free to stop reading....

Around a week ago, I posted on the hypocrisy of Congress' outrage over the Iraqi prison scandal (because they were complicit in it). It didn't go over so well here, with many calling me a right-wing apologist. Well in his most recent NYT OpEd, Krugman gave a paragraph to *precisely* the same issue:

"To their credit, some supporters of the administration are speaking out. "This is about system failure," said Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican from South Carolina. But do Mr. Graham, John McCain and other appalled lawmakers understand their own role in that failure? By deferring to the administration at every step, by blocking every effort to make officials accountable, they set the nation up for this disaster. You can't prevent any serious inquiry into why George Bush led us to war to eliminate W.M.D. that didn't exist and to punish Saddam for imaginary ties to Al Qaeda, then express shock when Mr. Bush's administration fails to follow the rules on other matters."

(Of course Krugman is a better writer than me, but whatever...)

So to all of you don't-think-and-read-at-the-same-time-jump-to-conclusions-leftier-than-thous: NYAH! NYAH!

lol

1. Congress is just as responsible.
Amnesty and the Red Cross were reporting on this long before the outrage being voiced now. Don't they have staff to keep a pulse on the world and our intelligence systems and contracts and the Pentagon?

I wonder if those people feel the same about Krugman?

<sticks toungue out and makes farty noises at critics>
