Does anyone know Jon Stewart's personal political views?
I thought I just heard him telling Jon McCain "you're my president." Did I hear correctly?

Thought he said, you're my guy.
I could be wrong ;) I doubt very much that Jon Stewart is a Republican in any sense of the word. Then again, I could be wrong.

Dennis Miller

ok, he's more of a sellout than he is a conservative. He found out he could make more money by sucking up to the GOP & trashing Dems

9. Miller is just a weak minded coward
he was never that funny and was so scared by 9/11 he went looking for the nearest fascist pretend strong man. Luckily for a sissy like Miller a fake strong man was available and he has become a Bush* apologist.

11. Miller is not funny.
Boring! Same old, same old. Everything he says is so predictable, same rhythm; his scripts are probably fill in the blanks.

14. He has been boring for a long time
even when he pretended to be something he never was. His *rants* on HBO got old quick. He more or less needed a career infusion and the Repuks gave him lots of work, after all their star boy looked like he was down the toilet on the drug Oxycotin. :nopity:

5. It's his way of maintaining objective journalistic integrity.
He likes who he likes, irrespective of party, the quality of the person is the important thing.

John has way more objective journalistic integrity than any other "journalist" on any network, cable or broadcast.

6. I think he meant if we had to have a Republican President,
Edited on Mon May-10-04 10:38 PM by Cleita
why couldn't it have been McCain? I have felt the same way. I hoped McCain would be the Republican nominee because I felt that the race would be close and if we had to lose to a Republican, he was far preferrable to Bush.

I have heard Stewart say after Bush was selected that in four years Americans would be going to Clinton with a box of cigars begging him to stick them anywhere he wanted to but please come back! That doesn't sound like a Republican to me.

10. He's Still A Media Darling
That's how I got his remark. McCain is a great guest and can get a show rockin'...two things a host likes. He's got great stories and can go from comic to serious, like when he stated his position on the torture stories, and keep it all in stride. Compare that type of politico to a Karen Hughes. That's why Imus loves him as well.

Notice how McCain is keeping his distance in how he described both the torture situation and his "support" for the regime. You know he's gotta be both seething at seeing the ugly side of Vietnam repeat itself and gleeful as he knows he's the number one alternative for if the BFEE falls. He also knows he can play major power broker right now...and that Junior needs him worse than another month-long vacation right now.

13. Collin Quinn
Collin Quinn plainly stated that he would voet for Bush today and he will in November.

Funniest joke I have heard in a long time ---The Republican National Committee announced today that the Republican Party is changing its emblem from an elephant to a condom. Governor Marc Raciot, RNC Chairman, explained that the condom more clearly reflects the party's stance today, because a condom accepts inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually getting screwed.

15. I thought I heard him say he was a Barry Goldwater conservative
But maybe it was part of a joke.

Jon Stewart's damn funny. And he also seems to be warm and genuinely respectful. I saw him interviewing Bob Dole on his show once and they were both hilarious. Dole really came off as having a decent sense of humor.

If Stewart's a conservative, then there's hope for conservatives.

Dennis Miller on the other hand used to be funny, a long time ago. Strange how his schtick got so very tiresome and unwatchable and then he decided he was conservative. I've tried to watch his show, but it's a bit too sad. Occasionally, he manages to get out something a little funny, but he chortles in that high nervous laugh of his and looks like he's uncomfortable like he's let himself slip back into his original persona and then he has to adjust himself back into the serious conservative that he's desperately trying to convince himself that he is. Weird little feckless whore. Celebrity and the strain to maintain it must be a real bitch.
