Dennis Miller's latest cheap shot
Either tonight's show is a repeat from last week or they don't tape them on the same day they are aired.

Discussing Rumsfeld's "apology speech," Miller said:

"To prove he was serious, in the middle of his speech Rumsfeld and his chiefs of staff formed a naked human pyramid."

Thanks for your contribution to the war effort, Dennis.

2. What's the punchline?
Somebody needs to let Dennis know he's last in ratings.

5. Not even funny...made me wonder...
Why doesn't Norm MacDonald have his own show? He could be just as smarmy and unfunny.

6. Howard Stern sort of "casually" offered him a job after SNL...
...a "semi-regular guest appearance" on his show, in which he'd do the same Weekend Update stuff he was doing.

The impression I got, even though the story just "went away," was that McDonald wasn't interested. Seems like he was more interested in doing failed sitcoms.

Stern was fond of saying (on his own show and his one guest appearance on SNL) that McDonald was "the only funny person on the show."

10. True, Norm could make me laugh...
...I think it's just his delivery that would get to me...I wonder if he's reconsidered Howard's offer...

12. I've heard rumors that Norm is a bit of a head case.
even too wacked out for the entertainment industry. No one will work with him.

13. He did an Andy Rooney bit on SNL once...
...where he simply stared, motionless and grinning into the camera at the end of a failed joke for, I swear, at LEAST two full minutes.

Two minutes of dead air on a live TV program is a l-o-n-g time.

It may have been "stunt comedy" in the style of Andy Kauffman but when he did he just seemed a little crazy. Or drugged. Maybe drugged AND crazy. But he burned a LOT of Hollywood bridges on SNL with the OJ Simpson jokes. Supposedly it was one of the top NBC brass who considered Simpson a personal friend and started the "McDonald is not funny" campaign to get him out of there.

Then, of course, they brought him back to guest host and he mentioned the incident in his monologue. Go figure.

8. Give Dennis credit. He jumped on the elevator on its way to the basement.
Just like everyone's favorite Democrat, Zell Miller. These clowns would have the sense to board the Titanic after it hit the iceberg.

9. Dont worry
he'll be gone soon, his ratings suck so he's not generating alot of ad revenue other than cnbc's ads.
