I don't believe impeachment will happen but the powers that be may just feel Bush* would be un-electable and decide to run someone else instead. Who would they pick? Hastert? Frist? Rudy Guillano (sp), Who do you think they would choose?

Actually no I take that back. I don't think he'd win. I think it'd backfire pretty bad for the GOP.

5. YES
DeLay is the ideal candidate. We're looking at a Dem victory comparable to Poppy's in '88. He wouldn't get a single swing voter and would have a tough time getting even half the Republicans in the northeast.

3. THe logical solution
would be to get him elected in 2004 and have him resign for some trumped up reason then let the true evil one take over. They could do that now, as well, though I don't think Cheney has the curb appeal that Bush seems to have with the GOP.

6. I Think This Time, They'd Let McCain Run
Since they know they'd need someone perceived to be a straight talker, and honest.

McCain might even win, even if Shrub fell in scandal.

Even with this SOTU lie, I am quite guarded with my optimism, however. I've thought tons of things would make people think less of Shrub, but either Shrub/Rove are better manipulators than I'd thought, or the press is more whorish than I'd guessed, or the people just don't care nearly as much as I'd hoped.

7. As even George Will mentioned
If Bush wins in 2004, there would be no viable candidate on the Republican side to run against Hillary in 2008.

The only one I could think of was, oh say, Colin Powell, but even he's involved in all of this shit.

9. Since W was selected, not elected
Let the SCOTUS, repeal their ruling and reinstall President Gore to his rightful place in the WH.

Maybe we could start a grassroots campaign to promote returning GORE to the WH?

we only had 4 years.

I really, really hope they go down over this, but I don't think it would be the end of the party.

16. If Bush stepped aside,
Powell would be chosen if he'd run.

If not McCain would be perfectly positioned as the I-told-you-so candidate. Either of them would be formidable.
