When Bush talked about rape rooms and torture
in his SOTU speech I wondered where the hell did he pull that rabbit out of the hat talking about rape rooms. It sounded so out of place in that speech then but now seems he knew about this mess and was getting ahead of the game preparing the dim mericans to drink the kool aid as some would say don't you think?

1. I've been thinking about that.....
Even as late as last week (visit of Canadian PM), Bush was congratulating himself for having ridded Iraq of rape rooms and torture.

Someone posted a approximate chronology of times he said this, and it has been a frequent assertion on his part. He's really been crowing about it as a major achievement. Ooops.

But, as we know, Rummy informed him of the impending investigation as early as this January. I don't buy this though -- ICRC have said that they reported abuse to Condi Rice last year, and that "it seemed to be falling on deaf ears". (Condi was "deaf" to talk of Al Qaeda too, Clarke tells us. Hmm.)

He knew.

He was counting on the coverup working. I think they all were.

I think a year ago he thought he could get away with anything. He is, if anything, a very high stakes gambler. He has incredible guts and nerve when it comes to making outrageous claims, and getting away with outrageous acts, and then looking you in the eye and lying about it.

Awww -- so he didn't see the nasty pictures until those traitorous LIEbrals on CBS showed them? He wants us to believe that he didn't realize how serious the allegations were until the 60 Minutes broadcast? Aw come on, George.

I know you're very sorry George -- sorry you got CAUGHT!

3. The manner that Bush said "rape rooms" made it seem like he was...
... secretly titillated by the phrase. Like it was the first time he was able to say an adult word in front of his parents... but trying to hide his pride in being able to say the word out loud.

Almost (but not quite) as bad as when he manages to over-pronounce the full name of a visiting dignitary... then he kind of pauses, smirks, and darts his eyes around the room as if to say "see? I said it! How's that?"
