So Rumsfeld got his way. He said he "wouldn't address the torture word" so they dropped it.

Fucking Jellyfish!!!

11. UM by who. Thae Taguba report spoke of chemical lights being broken
and their phosphorous contents poured on naked prisoners. A prisoner sodomized with a chemical light and possibly a broom handle. That sounds like torture to me!

9. A guy on CNN just said the torture word...
During the break between the Senate hearing and the House hearing Miles O'Brien was interviewing a man whose name I didn't catch. O'Brien asked him about the other pictures and video and what effect that would have. The guy said it would be devastating, because on video you would see the actual acts of torture and hear the sounds of the prisoners' reactions.

10. It's a word game
Right-wingers at their core believe the American people to be stupid, and sometimes, I think they're right. This administration loves to play word games, and most people buy it. The "imminent" threat of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction became a "gathering" threat. The reason we went to war against Iraq, to disarm Saddam Hussein, was replaced with a new reason, the liberation of the Iraqi people and the continued war on terror.

Now the administration is attempting to downplay the situation at the Abu Ghraib prison. The prisoners were not "tortured," they were "abused." As if that really changes anything. It's all part of the same parlor tricks this administration has used since Bush took office. It's all misdirection, where the magician wants you to look at his right hand while he palms a ball in his left.

Bush's "ethical" administration is crumbling around him. His arrogance, and the arrogance of his cabinet, will ultimately cost Bush his re-election. In my humble opinion.
