You underestimate the stupidity of many americans. They will just read "economy going strong" and that will be enough for alot of them. whatever, i just don't think i can handle another 4 years of bush.

Did someone issue a memo? New stratagems?

What? Americans are NOT stupid. Good and decent and misled by a Lying cloak of Bushevik Pravda.

But Free America is waking up and catching on.

Bad news for Bushevik Totalitarian Bootlickers, don't you agree, madeuplikebowie?

4. Too soon to tell, my friend.
We're definitely trailing, but not by much. It's anybody's game at this point.

The economy is still weak, but it is getting better, yes. But jobs are still down. Kerry is running on jobs. Gas prices may go down, but Bush was never really slammed in the polls for prices going up - so I don't think he will reap much benefit from it.

Kerry has differing issues on Iraq, particularly that the UN run it instead of the US. Not to mention Kerry is pounding Bush on fiscal responsibility, and Bush is shooting himself in the foot with certain social issues (such as homosexual marriage).

It's early in the game. :) I think Kerry can pull it off.

5. What on earth are you smoking, dear? WE haven't lost anything, our
poll numbers are FANTASTIC, bush's numbers are historically, catastrophically BAD. NO president in recent history has had such horrible approval numbers.

bush has NO message except one of terror, war, murder, lying, cheating, rigged elections, payloa, graft, stealing and thuggery.

Our KERRY is a man who has devoted his entire life to public and community service. He is a man of honor, dignity, truth and compassion.

bush is a lying, cowardly loser.

Who would YOU vote for to restore dignity and honor to America?

It SURE won't be the thugs in the republican party...

27. I "diss" people who have not earned the credibility to be
treated as trustworthy yet. If we didn't live under constant disruptor invasion, it would be different. But we do. Which means, I'm skeptical about people who create an account and almost immediately start being negative and gloom and doom, etc.

If that angers you, if that offends you in some way - I really couldn't care less. There's nothing wrong with questioning the credibility of some of what gets posted here. You EARN credibility over time. It's not handed to you on a silver platter.

People should respect you here at DU just because you have an honest opinion and you seek honest answers.

It happens every now and then, though. I've been flamed, too. :)

Keep asking the questions that count, my friend. We support open debate at DU.

28. Love that sig line, but your use of "you DU people"
You always have the choice of whether or not to stay with "we DU people".

By the way, your tenses don't agree. You can't have it both ways.

Example:

"You DU people"

Let's (short for "let US", as we all know)

Well, which is it?

Don't know that I much give two shits what someone who calls me a "you people" thinks. I also don't believe the sincerity of someone who uses the "you people" term.

But that's just my opinion. Only YOU know what you are, no matter what "we DU people" SUSPECT SRONGLY.

Teams now?

32. If it makes you feel any better, I'm a "DU person" too.
But whatever, Tom.

I've donated to DU, myself. I love the place and its people. I'll freely admit to being called a "DU person," as I think it should be more of a term of endearment than a damning moniker.

But if it really bothers you that I said it - I'll take it back, and apologize for bugging you with it.

Thanks for your comment on my sig line, btw.

45. Didn't bother me, per se
and absolutely NO need to apologize.

It was the "you" part of "you DU people" that raised my hackles and nose.

You have explained and I believe it may be me who owes you an apology.

People are sensitive here and they have a right to be. Unbelievably, a Bushevik Site completely devoted tgo DU has risen, and with it, an accompanying rise is the numbers of nonsense posts and red herrings and "lets make DUers sound stupid" posts.

People are sensitive and they ARE PISSED. I'm not saying it's right, but it's what is.

43. The poster edited his/her own post.
The poster said something along the lines of "is it hopeless for Kerry?"

The poster argued that since the economy is improving and gas prices will probably go down, Kerry might have nothing left to attack.

Yeah. I don't particularly agree with the argument, but the post wasn't threatening or mean. It was just somebody asking a question they honestly didn't know the answer to.

In my opinion, some of the responses were unnecessarily harsh.

At the rate he's screwing up, how can the Chimp win?
I don't want to rule out anything, but at this rate, I would be very, very interested what is being said in the cabinet meetings these days.

The gloom hanging over the White House seems palpable.
Even being given the presidency by the Supreme Court, he still is compounding mistakes with more mistakes.

The chimp has a reverse Midus Touch.
I think it is just too early to tell, but am betting on Kerry.
