Bush, Wife to Skip Daughters' Graduations
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=544&u=/ap/200...

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - President Bush (news - web sites) and first lady Laura Bush will skip their twin daughters' college graduations later this month to avoid creating a distraction at the respective schools, the White House said Thursday.

"There are no plans at this time to attend these ceremonies," said Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for Laura Bush. "The Bushes felt the focus should be on the students, and not how long the lines are to go through the metal detectors."

Jenna Bush is slated to graduate May 22 from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's degree in English. Barbara Bush graduates May 24 with a bachelor's in humanities from Yale University.

Mrs. Bush told CNN in February that her 22-year-old daughters may help with their father's re-election campaign. "They are terrific girls. They are getting ready to graduate from college, and we'll see when they graduate," Mrs. Bush said. "You know, this will be really their first campaign that their dad has run that they are really old enough to be involved."

Johndroe said Thursday that it would be up to the daughters to decide whether to campaign.

1. Real Reason? Barbara Jr and Jenna are DEMS
I've heard it at least in the case of Jenna

Now wouldn't it be fucking hilarious if Jenna ran as a lefty Dem soon after graduation?

3. I think Chimp's too scared to be that much in public
They can't guarantee that every graduate, teacher, and parent is a card-carrying Republican. The Chimp will not appear anywhere with that much risk. (What if somebody asked him a question?!)

6. I'm sure they can't wait to help..LOL
They are as misguided and lazy as the father. I doubt we will see much of them during the campaign.
Of course maybe we will see them campaign for Kerry.
