2. I was wondering that yesterday too

Didn't start a thread, but I wondered if it might be from some of those disgruntled national guard guys who have had their stays extended and extended and extended. Could be regulars whose discharges got deferred too. Mutiny within the ranks perhaps?

The other thing that has not been reported is the fact that along with abuse, there were prison escapes reported in that November inquiry. The knowledge of abuse has been common on the iraqi street for months and months according to a report on JuanCole - no doubt escapees telling tales that circulated via the proverbial grapevine. I would lay odds that this very probably is why there has been this uptick in violence already, leading directly to the deaths of so many soldiers. Now why isn't anyone talking about these matters from that aspect?

who had integrity turned them in. I believe they were put on disks.

obviously the abusers were aware they were being photo'd. Seems like it would be fellow servicemen. Something to pass around? momentos?

Lots of pictures. Seemingly, they are all damning - the sort of thing that one would think anyone would be very worried about creating.

What's going on when the individuals involved seem rather eager to document court martial offenses?

I can't forgive the perpetrators any more than I can Rumsfeld and Co.

Something seriously wrong with those people, IMHO.

As much as I want Rumsfeld tried in the WC for this, I want those people court-martialed.
