When I was riding in to school today on the light rail, three guys got on. They were talking about the torture of Iraqis. The one thing that is interesting, and most likely true is that these heinous acts go beyond the people who performed them. In the army, there is such a thing that low level soldiers feel pressured to do what is expected by higher ups. Meaning that the higher ups may have made them think it is okay and expected. Otherwise, if people say this is not to occur, it will not except for maybe a couple of people, but certainly not on the level that this has happened. It is interesting, and quite terrifying if it is true, which I am almost sure it is.
I eventually joined in on this. It quickly turned to talk about how dangerous the Bush administration is. How dangerous he will be if reselected. Also about how May 1 was victory day. They seemed pretty anti-Bush. But it was interesting. Give me your thoughts.
